TO SPEND OR NOT TO SPEND .. WHAT A DILEMMA!
As amazing as it seems, this year we will be spending (according to the news on T.V.) an average of $ 850.00 per person for Christmas. In other words we will feed our brain of propaganda, brained washed through commercials and the media, and we will be spending money that we really don't have. Some of us will even get deeper in debt and later on, we will probably pull our hair (more like in April) when the credit cards statements reality starts slapping us on the face waking us up from this "temporary state of mental stupidity". Some of us will say "Oh well! At least I made my loved ones happy these Holidays". So true! However, you could have made them happy with less money and more creativity. Christmas had nothing to do with shopping remember? and Santa was created for kids! DIARY OF A HOUSEWIFE
I still remember those fairy tales my mom used to tell us by the fire place (that was until the cat got on fire because he got too close and the smell never left the house). We were 7 kids and we all paid so much attention to those stories, specially the part where the prince takes the princess on his beautiful white horse and goes away.. so romantic? I don't think so! Someone forgot to add the part where the little princess had to wash the prince's underwear or where her delicate hands had to scratch the gum off from under the table and chase her little 2 year old away from the dog before the poor animal realizes that he has been decorated with my lipstick like a canine prostitute! Evolution of a Revolution
When another young American falls in Iraq and another critic of the war jumps on that growing bandwagon, that veteran joins a long, long list of men and women who have made sacrifices unimaginable to most regular folks. And those veterans who have made sacrifices and survived to tell about it are justifiably proud of their part in defending an American way of life guaranteed by the creation of the U.S. Constitution and its first 10 amendments enumerating certain rights that cannot be taken away by government. Even as children in elementary school, we all learn the virtues of a government in which the majority rules and people can take part in the process of selecting their own representatives who will help make government's most important decisions. Little kids know about heroes like George Washington and there's probably an FCAT question somewhere that mentions "government of, by and for the people."
