County Commission
AWOL Again??
Finally the video has been posted, thank you My Clay Sun. I could not help but notice Mr. Robinson is AWOL again. It seems to me that if you truly want a job such as county commissioner then you should make every possible public appearance that is available. First he failed to debate Mr. Rutledge and myself and now it appears that he has failed to show up on the video. I have to believe he thinks he can win this race without having any platform, without making any commitments, without placing himself in front of the real voters. Apparently he believes he can win based on just having more signs than any other candidate. D5 Video Missing
Last Tuesday I sat for the video interview at the Times Union. I have looked for the video but I cannot find it. I find the candidates for the other County Commission races but nothing for District 5! Has anyone else found it???
JD Pd. Pol. Adv. paid and approved by JD "Dan" Weisenburger, Republican, Clay County Commission, District 5
Here I am
Ok, I survived having pies thrown at me (actually directly dumped on me) at Moosehaven so now I shall stand here and let YOU, the voters take pot shots. I am a candidate for County Commission, District 5, I am NOT the incumbent and I DO NOT have puppeteers pulling my strings. Now YOU the voters can talk to me directly and let's see where this leads us. My candidacy is FOR THE PEOPLE Up on the Tower
Clay County's new Court House was officially dedicated this afternoon, complete with a red ribbon being cut. I got there a few minutes late after hiking in from the southwest 40 of the new parking lot, but here's how the experience went for me. The dedication ceremony was held on the front steps of the Court House. No one in my immediate vicinity could hear more than half of what was being said. The traffic noise was pretty loud and fairly steady. Green Cove being Green Cove, there were a couple of semis hauling trailers full of new cars. One pickup truck cruised by and briefly shared a rap song entirely too dependent on the bass to actually be called music. And CSX sent one of its noisy representatives past the ceremony. Clay's John Hancocks
Ever since I was taught how to peer into an individual's personality through the quirks of their penmanship, I've enjoyed looking at how different people leave the clues in their John Hancocks. I'm up early (borrowed my neighbor's kitten again) and took a look at the signatures of the five folks on the County Commission, plus the County Manager. Harold Rutledge (Chairman, Dist. 5): The chairman's signature shows a man in search of balance, someone who works to avoid conflict. He doesn't crave the spotlight like a lot of politicians, but works to jump into camera frame because it's part of the job. The anti-Harold faction out there should know his John Hancock also shows a person of high moral standards. That's a great combination for a law enforcement officer, isn't it?
