skateboarding
The new DO IT BIG column by Jacob Milano.
I read the new column this morning by Jacob Milano about local skateboarding. I am the proud mother of 2 skateboarding boys and I loved it! I think this is wonderful as skateboarding is becoming more and more popular among our youth. I wanted to commend My Clay Sun for making this possible. Keep up the good work! THESE BOARDS TELL A STORY
A worn down, scraped up, broken skateboard deck might not be of any further use to the skateboarder - but it tells a story of many rides, falls, tricks, and experiences. Decko- Designs was started by my son and I to turn their passion and sport into artistic expression. If interested in purchasing a piece of furniture art or contributing to our discarded deck supply, blog me!
Skateboarders RULE!
SKATEBOARDERS RULE! Skateboarding has been around for a long, long time. It has been through an interesting evolution over the years. When my father (who is 80 years old) was growing up during the Depression years in South Bend, IN, he and his buddies would create various inventions out of items stolen from the dump. They would attach wheels to pieces of wood and ride their devises around until it either failed or they fell one too many times. My husband and I grew up with the metal skates that attached to your shoes, pogo sticks, and plastic skateboards that looked like mini surfboards on wheels. Each generation - in pursuit of cheap thrills – while challenging the laws of gravity. Related: Report Abuse | read more | Jennie's blog | 2 comments | Tags: furniture art | skateboarding | youth
