First AmendmentCitizen Initiatives Amendments - Please Help Defend Our Voting Rights
All of the Citizen Initiative Proposed amendments are now listed on the Supervisor of Elections website. You can view them at http://www.clayelections.com/Amendments.html. Please take a look and read the clearly stated proposals to the Clay County charter changes. There are some who do not want you to have the opportunity to vote YES or NO on these amendments and have filed a lawsuit to keep them off the ballot. Please tell the obstructionists that you want to have the democratic opportunity to vote YES or NO on these amendments. Help the CTLAC defend our First Amendment rights and find out how at www.CTLAC.com. CTLAC Needs Your Help - and SOON!!
It seems the Citizens for Term Limits & Accountability Committee’s (CTLAC) need for counsel – and soon – in order to protect our First Amendment rights has taken a back seat to other blogs. So, I’m bringing it to the forefront since only 7 days are remaining until the CTLAC must defend the right in court to have these amendments on November’s ballot for voters to choose Yes or No!. While all the other blog topics certainly have merit and need to be addressed, the deadline for helping the CTLAC is near. Church-state separation --- It works!
The principle of church-state separation is one of my passions. I'm a staunct advocate. I think the Founders of our nation did us a great favor in establishing this great principle, namely, that everyone should have freedom of religion (chose your own spiritual path, or none at all); and that the government should stay out of religious matters (i.e. no support/no promotion/no funding). The principle of church-separation has created a nation where religion is vital and flourising (just look around you), and where we have avoided the violent religious conflicts that devastate so many places in the world.
