Update on CTLAC vs Roy Lyons, Case #08-4525 in 1DCAJust to bring you up to date on the appeal, things are now getting very interesting. Roy Lyons is appealing Judge Buttner's Final Judgment on the salaries. That's what the cross appeal was about. Professor Little filed a motion for oral arguments and it appears it may have been granted as there is a new face on the scene. His name is Ronald A. Labasky, Esq., Florida Bar #266326, of Tallahassee who is the General Counsel for the Florida State Association of Elections, Inc., and registered lobbyist for Florida Tax Collectors. His 1DCA cases total 12 with some success. You may view his bio at www.yvlaw.net. What this tells me is somebody is willing to spend lots of $$$ to try and save the chair, 2 at large seats and big salaries. Did they think Mr Watts was to inexerienced? Professor Little more than out numbers both of them together in 1DCA. Related: alabayea's blog | login or register to post comments | printer friendly version | Tags: CTLAC

alabayea Ronald Lebasky Esq., was representing the SOE as a defendant in this case. If he has now shifted to the side of Roy Lyons, It would be a gross violation of the ethics rules of the Bar. It was bad enough the Scrubby could not figure out who he was working for at the hearing and had to be told he was part of the defense and at least for appearance sake should sit with the defense. In My case Lebasky represented the SOE and expressed more concern about the opposition in my case than what had happened to me. He was worried that who ever won the republican position would have to continue to run against me. While he was whining about the poor plight of those who had money contributions I reminded him that God Created November for Elections not August. If he has shifted sides he should be disbarred. I would encourage all who read this if this is the case to notify the bar of this blatant violation of ethic. Submitted by alabayea on Sun, 10/05/2008 - 1:41pm.
I can only tell you what I found. Have no idea who he represents in this appeal. It does not make any sense for SOE to get involved in appeal, at least not to me. Submitted by alabayea on Mon, 10/06/2008 - 8:51am.
Marsha, Mr. Labasky filed a "Notice" to court on 10-2-2008 for this case. As to what the notice is about remains to be seen. People are talking about ...Here are the recent blog postings with the most comments. |

Alabayea can you elaborate a little on what you're talking about? Labasky was already part of the case, being the defense Attorney for the SOE. He also represented the SOE when we were fighting to get Fred back on the ballot.
I don't understand how people can both be a goverment employee and a lobbyist at the same time. Its like letting the fox guard the hen house.
