More Care is needed at Clay Co Animal ControlHello, Over a 15 year period my family has adopted 3 dogs from CCAC. The first one was about 15 years ago, then 6 years ago and then this past Jan. The first two adoptions were fine. But this recent adoption was terrible. I adopted an emaciated boxer, named Scout. He was 20lbs under weight. COVERED in thousands fleas and atleast 35-45 ticks!!! lethargic and very, very sick. I knew that if we left him there he would die. He had VERY BAD worms, Bloody stools, and bacteria in his intestines. I understand that CCAC doesn't have much funding or whatever but adopting a dog out in that kind of condition was terrible! How hard is it to wash a dog and deworm him. People don't want to bring home those fleas and ticks (of which I had many I had to pick off myself!) Nobody wants to clean bloody poop off the carpet! At least wash them and deworm them! that can't be that expensive, then maybe more people would adopt. I had to take Scout back to the vet after his initial appointment 2 months later b/c he was still so sick. I am a firm believer in saving dogs from the pound, he is a wonderful dog and is greatful to us for saving him. Submitted by Angela on Fri, 09/05/2008 - 9:17pm.

No Vet No Policies NO LEADERSHIP.....Another Complaint I have been reading all of your responses. I had an experience with them also. It has been quite a few years ago. i had the same problem Picked out a puppy and PAID the money and they took her to the vet and she had parvo. Needless to say I didn't get the dog or my money back. The people behind the counter were rude and unwilling to help either. i have been there since trying to get a dog and they are as rude as rude can get. Something needs to be done there. .

All the animals brought into CCAC are flea sprayed and ticks removed. It's public record, and is noted on the dogs health sheet. They are also dewormed with strongid or panacure. Sometimes when an animal is so infeasted with worms it could take a couple treatment cycles to clean them out. I am sure that the condition of that dog was not the result of CCAC and that it was in that shape when it arrived. I bet the folks at CCAC would all tell you, they would love to have a vet on staff at CCAC. Who's going to pay for it ? Yes this sounds to me like another tall tale. 07/08 budget was 1.4 million. Of that 1 million is salaries and benefits. Only 400k was spent on operations. Jax has 1 million residents to deal with in animal control issues. Clay has 180k residents to deal with in animal control issues. Certainly with that amount of animals and employees to manage they seem to do a much better job at the same price we are paying to manage less animals and less people. Still the department is falling though the cracks. Maybe the Commissioners should follow Nassau County's fixing of the problems. Maybe they could outsource the service. Donn and his outcast series will air reruns. For those of you who have not been following the series, it stars Donn who is also the producer of the show. Donn who is the charismatic leader of a band of women who follow him blindly, takes on a group of employees of a small rural Animal Control. In this show he seems to have a particular hate for the director of this Animal Control. In this series were not sure if it is because he tried to make romantic gestures to her and was shot down or if he simply hates her out of jealousy. What is clear is that the outcasts, the group of women that follow him like he was Charles Manson, do most of the dirty work on the show. The series is airing reruns, it will be same dribble as last year.This show stars, Trina..... the K-9 trainer, who to date has never shown anyone her credentials or trained any dogs that we are aware of. Trina is also a little crazy this dds some entertainment value to the show. Sangela.....The support outcast, she tries to back Donn on the show with her postings on a blog, to date her information has been less then informative, and she repeats her self often. Next is Rannie. Rainne was fired from this Animal Control for theft, she is the point woman. Then we have JiJi the cross poster. After that we have Siane and Peslie they keep the gossip rolling for show. Although many viewers have found themselves wondering where they get their information from since none of it has been aired on the show. There are a few new people including Sena who says she volunteers for local shelters, but no one has found any local shelters that she volunteers for. Welcome to the show Sena. Viewers welcome back to Donn and his outcast, another season of unfounded reruns. Maybe the viewers will tire of this and the show will go off the air. The show airs on Clay Sun, and Jax Craigslist (Pets) daily.

A good majority of the "bloggerotti" here on MCS know that this individual is simply someone that got got kicked-off of the CCAC property, (or should I say that he decided to leave so he would not have to talk to the cops) after he reportedly created a situitation that required the services of the Clay County Sherrif's office, and feels that he has to enact revenge on those that would not put-up with his animalistic behavior. We too are done with him and he will be dealt with in a like manner....remember that all you have to do is hit the "report abuse button" and he has to start over again....

I have to say I am glad that My Clay Sun finally put in some of the negative comments about CCAC in their paper this am, but let's look at how they did it. A large ad on the front page and the center fold all containing comments from the same people, CCAC employees, what would one expect but what was printed when there is a planned visit by a reporter from My Clay Sun. These CCAC employees, as on your blog, say the same old thing, after all they have to protect their positions, but they are doing this at the cost of our animals. My Clay Sun you need to go out and investigate and get some of the stories from the citizens who have posted on your blog all of the horrible experiences they have had get the real story and don't put it to the back of your paper put it on the front page and give them a large center fold. How about mentioning the "Citizens for a Better Clay County Animal Control". A group of volunteers who will be involved in the day to day operations of CCAC very soon. There will be, I think, 7 positions filled, we need this so badly. There are also alot of other people out there, if you just look who will give you alot of information for your paper about their experiences other than the same old CCAC employees. How about a surprise visit, with some of the volunteers, how about a surprise visit with some of the rescuers out there who have experienced the real CCAC. Come on My Clay Sun stop your one sided look at CCAC, stop deleting blogs when they are negative comments about CCAC, it looks like someone may have a friend or two at My Clay Sun from CCAC.

I guess it was a public relations story. Not much substance but lots of fluff. I wonder if the county contracted with this group and gave them 1.4 million to handle the animal problems in the Clay County. Outsourcing should be a great option for the Commissioners. Anyone interested in helping in the County should contact them and all donations are tax deductable. Geez Donn maybe she doesn't take a good picture. It might be just my opinion but you should have left your picture off too. Don't feel bad I take a horrible picture too. Now your getting into their personal lives? Isn't it good enough that you try to control every aspect of their works lives. I believe if you had any information on any of the dogs being from CCAC that Debra Sue was selling you wouldn't have wasted time you have posted it ASAP. Everyone knows that.there have been changes made a CCAC but I don't see you posting them. They have a rescue coordinator, they send weekly emails out about animals needing adoption. It's like you and your group is obsessed with destroying the people that work there.You friend Newcomer wants an article about all the negative comments. How about fair reporting on all the changes and positive feedback too. There are several post on Craigslist that you solicited that are very positive why aren't they posted here. Well I'm not in his group. I've never met Mr Rammon. I do appreciate his activist stance on making government better. I appreciate him making the citizens aware that their property was being given away for free. I appreciate the time he takes to be a government watchdog. The best way to make changes in government is to shine the light of public scrunity on government. Remember Mr Rammon you will be treated the same way Durwood has when turning on those lights. Just keep up the good work. If CCAC was a private business then it would have been out of business a long time ago. You support his personal attacks on the employees. It doesn't seem to matter if they are unfounded are not. Your calling him Mr. Rammon as if you don't know him doesn't make anyone who has been following this on going Circus believe that you don't support him He's treated badly because that is the way he treats anyone who disagrees with him. It was pointed out just yesterday about his name calling. You have not participated in that, but along with the other women in his circus have continued the harassment on the the employees at CCAC. Even while change is going on at CCACYou Angela have made your bed so now you will lay in it. It is a known fact that weaker women often follow men that have serious mental health issues. I know Debra-Sue. She too is a fine woman. To post her picture and lie about her is slanderous. She does not have a kennel, she is not a breeder, she does not sell animals. Why not mention how last Saturday, Debra-Sue had 4 seperate rescue groups at CCAC rescueing animals, and a volunteer dog groomer that was there all day bathing and grooming dogs ? Baby Huey (Don Rammon) and his small group of nut cases are hell bent on one thing, and one thing only, slanderous hatred. Citizens for a better Clay County Animal Control (which Baby Huey is a LARGE part of) desperately want this commitee in place to use and continue their slander on another front. They think in there little pin headed minds that having this commitee means they will be able to call the shots at CCAC. All this commitee will be doing is offering up suggestions that may improve CCAC. If they act the way they do here when addressing the BCC they will get nowhere. This group and commitee is a joke that the BCC will see right through.

I'm not in a group. You are right I don't call people names and suggest they need mental health treatment because they don't agree with my position either. Evidently the only groupies I see here is CCAC groupies who jump on the band wagon. Evidently they must all be government employees if they think CCAC is ran efficiently and effectively. I don't think anyone else in the general public would believe that statement. Just asked what they think about employees blogging on county time. Not just employees but the Director. Clay County has several agencies and nonprofits they contract with to provide services to the community. That is because it can be handled more efficiently and effectively. I support good government that can be provided at the least cost to the taxpayers and provide the best services. It's past time we take a different direction in Clay County.

Sorry Angela, I don't agree with you so called CCAC Groupies statement. You called people that only because they disagree with the childish rants of one individual. You praise this individual for his effort even when he has proven through his unreadable and slanderous posts that he has only one agenda, that to discredit the Director of Aninmal Control. He is not at all concerned about helping the poor animals, because if he were he would be takinganother route to help. He is just a mean person with a vendeeta!! As for other County agencies, none of them have to deal with irresponsible pet owners and a flood of unwanted animals on a daily basis. I would bet if you looked hard at any company or agency you will find problems and areas that need improvement. No one has said that CCAC is without problem or need for improvement. CCAC has the responsibility of stuffing a 20 pound item in a 5 pound bag! Until the citizens of this county start taking responsiblity for their animals and not just drop them off when they are through with them, CCAC will always be over burdened and over filled.

I know that standing in front of the BCC for my "3 minutes" can get more accomplished than sending out negative, slanderous lies about how things really are... Besides, I have until the 23rd. to send e-mails and make phone calls to the BCC and the County Manager. The REAL reason that I want to go to the next BCC meeting is to make a public record of THE FACTS... Be careful of who you associate yourself with because spreading hate and discontent are the works of evil, small minded individuals. I don't have to associate with Mr Rammon to agree with him on government accountability. That's something we should all be asking for in Clay County. But then if you can't even get the people to vote (less than 30%) in this county. I guess they like wasting 9 million on dumping scandals and giving away their property for free. Who decides who is on the committee? When does this committee meet? Where does this committee meet? is this committee governed by the Sunshine Laws? Has this committee drafted and presented any ideas to the BCC to date? Commodore queen, I probably can answer these questions for you..... Do you have to be a Clay County Resident to be on this committee? NO, all that is required is an I.Q. below 100 Who decides who is on the committee? The one that can put a whole sentence together. When does this committee meet? The second tuesday of every week. Where does this committee meet? The group home, or where ever the next A.A. Meeting is (not Alcholics anonymous.) { replace the word alcholics with another name for a donkey} is this committee governed by the Sunshine Laws? Heck the sun never shines in Hell so that is not even a consideration. Has this committee drafted and presented any ideas to the BCC to date? NO, we cannot figure out those big words you are using...

Why does Donn have to do it? Why aren't you doing it? Now once again he is Donn and not Mr. Rammon. Yet you claim not to support him and that you are not part of a group. But everytime something postive gets posted you want Donn to stir something up. What a shame you can't just be happy that one more animal was saved. First who said I was at my house. I don't remember writing that in a blog. Next I've seen many public records complaints that can be requested by anyone that is interested. They range from the college in Gainesville to citizens in the community. These complaints have spanned several years and not just the past few weeks. I have talked with many citizens in our community who have expressed concerns about animal control too. I don't just take the word of Mr Rammon I was well aware of these problems long before he came on the blogs.

We all know you are one of Don's cronies.. You have been coming to his rescue every since he started his hatred. You don't want to see any improvement in government, you just want to be a person who sits around and constantly complains about how bad it is and never do anything about it. You love to quote public records but fail to realize there is more to it than what is written in black and white. A complaint is just that.. a complaint. It may be real or false. People complain everyday when they don't get what they want or think is right. Sometimes you need to consider the human factor and not just what is written in your precious public records.

CCAC hold people to task for their irresponsibilities and make them accountable. I would not be surprised if you could find thousands of people a year in Clay County willing to bad mouth them. It does not make it true. TRUTHHURTS Please go to http://www.fairtax.org/site/PageServer and sign the petition for the Fair Tax Bill. Tell Congress to pass this Bill.
