Thanks Lily.I had a bit of time, so I went back in the blogs seeing if I might have missed anything. Lo & behold, (one of my favorite expressions) I came across a reply from Lily to One Guys View. It was on his blog titled, "Hate Mail, gotta Love It," 08.27.08. It seems that a challenge was put forth to another blogger with no response. Lily pointed that out, saying that it seemed SOP. For example: Blogger A makes a statement or claim. Blogger B then asks for something, a source or some facts that would validate that claim because blogger B has facts that dispute the claim of blogger A. Response? Zero, ziltch, nada, nothing. And Lily is right. It IS SOP for people like this. Anyone can have a hunch, an idea, a gut feeling. But if you put it in print, as your opinion, without anything to back it up, your blog cred augers into the ground headed for earth's core. To make matters worse, if you don't even dignify the query with a response, intellectually & socially, you might as well fold your tent & go home. Not my rules. Those are the rules of the real world. I chided Lily a bit because I've posted on this situation numerous times & have even listed two bloggers, who, in my opinion, were/are infamous for this type of unfortunate behavior. But there are others. The lesson to be learned from all of this. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. That's by law. But if they have any hope of being taken seriously, they will provide some source or fact upon which to base their opinion. That's just common sense. If you duck the issue by not responding to a challenge, you have already lost. JATFUR. Lily, I've said this before & I'll say it again. You've got to learn not to repress or sugar coat your true feelings. To be truly healthy & one with the world, you have to learn to release your inner feelings & share with the rest of us. Confession is good for the soul. (that's just an expression) Sharing relieves us of the trevails of everyday life. It is cleansing. It can also be BS on the greatest magnitude. You are so lucky that I'm not a psychologist. Yeah, I've covered this topic numerous times. In my reply to you on OGV blog, I named two of the more infamous examples of this situation, but there are more, to be sure. We just have to take care & note those who fail to back up what they say. It's not that difficult to do. Then, when they fail to reply, just ignore them in future postings. If they don't want to contribute in a serious manner, so be it. But until then, please root for my beloved CUBS. Lately, they need some serious help. JATFUR. Rich K

Too much sweetness will land me with an insulin habit before long. I will now try to just orate what I feel and no longer be concerned with the potential damage to the weaker among us and their easily damaged psyches. :>) Lily's Lore "I don't ever want to be rescued And I don't ever want to be saved I got a feelin' that I'm gonna be alive forever Dancin' on the edge of a grave..." You are absolutely dead on target, Solo. This is exactly what should be considered before anyone posts anything, whether it be good, bad or indifferent. When I took up the challenge from the Fair Tax Cult, they immediately tried to shut me up, damning anything I might write as being biased. How silly of me to not recognize that their biases were far more important than mine. If anyone cares to go back, they will find numerous attempts on my part to stimulate debate. Not one of the objections I raised was ever addressed. Only small minded, petty and vicious attacks on me and never a single positive note on their own positions. I knew there would be no reply to any questions raised by these people becasue arrogance should trump all in their minds.
Arrogance states, "Take our word for it. You are not as smart as we are. We only want what's best for everyone. P.S. You are not allowed to question our Authority." It was just that type of ideology that made me the borderline anarchist I am today. There is very little I dislike as much as the Smug Among Us. My main philosophy was shaped by people like this. One statement I live by is "Question Authority". I always have and I always will.
Tragically, the Fair Taxers are not the only group affected with this mindset.
