Black Creek debris warning
From the Clay County Sheriff's Office The Clay County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit posted debris warnings Friday, to boaters who plan to use Black Creek over the Labor Day holiday weekend. As a result of Tropical Storm Fay, Black Creek remains littered with debris from private properties, fallen trees and stumps and boards from decks/docks that were submerged during the flooding. A high-speed collision with any one of these items can prove dangerous for a boat, jet ski or skiers. Mariners should use caution during this busy boating weekend. Debris warnings have been posted at boat ramps that serve the Black Creek area. Anyone with questions should call Deputy Chris Castelli at (904) 591-4621. He will be on duty this weekend and on the creek on his Sheriff's Office-assigned vessel.
