Your Clay Sun

I along with several neighbors have talked about the new "Clay Sun" and how much we miss the County Line. We all used to look forward to Wednesdays and Saturdays. I would like to know how many Clay County residents prefer the County Line and how many prefer the Clay Sun.

The on-line blogs on Clay Sun should be listed in order of "viewings" and "posts" (activity) as it would seen that blogs getting the most postings or viewings are generating the most interest. Instead, I am assuming that Mr. Thames dictates which blogs are listed first. So it is no surprise that blogs with the most views or posts are on page 7, 9, etc, as these are the blogs that apparently differ from his personal opinion.

I also find it interesting in Mr. Thames choice of letters to the editor that he chooses to print. Maybe the Clay Sun should post a disclaimer advising residents not to waste their time posting blogs or writing letters to the editor if they do not adhere to Mr. Thames personal opinions. Because if they don't, they will not be printed or they will be put on page 10 of the blogs.

I applaud the Times Union for equal coverage of both sides of every story. I am glad there is at least one print media that provides fair coverage....because the Clay Sun has almost lowered itself to the same level as the Fleming Island Messenger. It is no wonder that both of these publications are free, because no one in their right mind would pay money for them.

By the way, where is Deborah?

Cut up the paper, compare the amount or real news vs ads, then you will find out why the format was changed

Sherri, the blog overview page (http://www.myclaysun.com/blog) is sorted by time -- newest blog postings at the top. Totally automated. The homepage (http://www.myclaysun.com) was automated for the first week or so, then we changed it, as Jonathan noted in a blog posting.

On the right side of most pages there's a list of most recent comments, so you can see what's sparkling activity.

What we don't have is a list of "popular content." I'll talk with Jonathan and Ed Coyle (who did the site design work) about that.

OK, weve added a list of the most popular (commented) blogs from the last
36 hours, and it shows up at the bottom of every blog posting, right below the comment box.

I was also having Clay County Line withdrawals on Wednesday morning, but after the few weeks it's been around, I have come to prefer the Sun over the County Line.  Much more "stuff" all the way around.  I prefer the size format of a regular newspaper, but that's a minor thing.  And the website, especially the blog, is very cool.  I like.
