Thursday Morning Heds

Heavy rain, wind from Fay expected today

Hope Public Works got the County Commissioners' homes prepared in time.

Language adds storm urgency

Unless, of course, the language is as confusing as the headline.

Police shoot man during chase on foot

That story was included in today's edition just to remind everyone that there is still normal life and regular news stories unrelated to Fay.

From CNN.com ...

Kite-surfer who hit building improving, mom says

If there is a permanent disability, let's hope it disables his ability to pass along the DNA that allowed him to think wind-surfing in a hurricane was a good idea.

Florida college used in giant Ponzi scheme

It was the University of Miami, so at least no football players were involved. Not smart enough to be involved in anything as complicated as a Ponzi scheme.

Stray dogs hop bus to go swimming

Who filled the bus with water?

VP Secrecy Sparks Media Frenzy

We haven't seen a news frenzy like this since Britney Spears spent a week exercising away the baby fat by climbing in and out of cars pantiless.

Doing Denver During the Democratic Convention

That's the difference between China and the good ol' US of A. Got a big deal going in Beijing, they sweep the streets clean of the prostitutes. But you can bet those fun-loving Democrats'll be doing Denver.

Man Jailed for Snapping Pic of Cop Ignoring Street Sign

That's the difference between England and the good ol' US of A. American cops have way too much paperwork to fill out when they throw someone in jail for stuff like that. Oh yeah, there's that Bill of Rights thing, too.

Mike,

Thanks for the diversion from wondering just what the heck this storm will do.  But on to the heds.

Public Works, County Comish's homes.  What's the matter?  You never heard of having your priorities right?

Normal & regular used in the same sentance as news?  Gotta wonder @ this.

Kite surfer.  I'll bet a buck that when asked just what the heck he thought he was doing, the words, "I didn't think,"  was somewhere in this idiots explanation.  And that pretty much explains it all.

VP secrecy.  I'm not too worried @ this issue.  I mean, after all, it couldn't be worse than what we've got.  So, in effect, what, me worry?

Hope every one is taking this storm seriously, even though it doesn't seem to be taking itself seriously.  Just remember & please don't ever forget.  A wet bird never flies at night.  Thank you George.  JATFUR.
