Car Salesman Hits All Time Low With PoliticsWhile Mr. Robinson stands at the podium thanking the all mighty for his reason for being here, Mr. Robinson and his band of old timers are going to work to construct negative campaign sign with circles and slashes through his opponents name and placing them on prime real estate. Yes, they picked out their property to place their beautiful construction signs and planted them down with enthusiasm. I’m sure the paint was barely dry as they dug the holes to place the signs. The prime real estate was of course picked for optimum exposure to children. Why you ask children? Because Mr. Robinson can’t fight a fair political battle of ideas and issues, he must fight dirty. So he picks the signs to be right across from where his opponent’s children go to school. Not only do the children see it but so do other children, parents and teachers. This I have to say is the lowest I’ve ever seen a candidate stoop to in years. I would love to hear Mr. Robinson’s answers to the questions from the children as to why he is doing this in front of their school and to their classmates father. By the way, the signs are in the county right of way and could cost Mr. Robinson a fine of up to $1000 per sign. Now you would think Mr. Robinson would know this since he wants to be our County Commissioner for District 5. I’m sorry Mr. Robinson is running because he is angry about the sign ordinance in which he is now breaking. His background to run is that he hasn’t served our county government in any volunteer capacity that I know of other than giving to worthy causes. Let us not forget how he introduced his brother in-law as a dog. I guess you might want to get your checkbook out again Mr. Robinson....... it is easy. If you want to start playing dirty politics then we certainly can dig up “arrest records” from your past. Let’s say about 24 years ago or so. Speaking of how low can you go and how desperate he must be...I got an "anonymous" letter today from (I assume) Wayne Spivey telling me to vote against James Jett "for his misuse of 'Power, County Vehicles and OUR HARD EARNED MONEY!' It elaborated on how bad Jett was, complete with pictures posted previously on these blogs. Although unsigned, I feel sure it was from Spivey, because it was the same letter circulated by blogger Paige Barthlow (ardent supporter and friend of Spivey) at the Ridgeview forum last month. Desperate candidates do desperate things when they know their ship is sinking (i.e. Taylor and Spivey). Spivey could have saved the postage on the letter---I've already voted and I surely did not vote for him or Taylor.
Tick Tock Taylor. Tick Tock Spivey.

Now it's clear why you chose to join the blogs and basically out of the gate decided to pick on Fred and/or myself......you're a Rutledge supporter. Aside from your ficticious user name at least the readers now know why you're here. The way you challenge so many as to their rights to run, have an opinion you obviously feel you and your candidate are superior to the rest of us. Ronnie Robinson is a local business man, taxpayer, resident. He doesn't need anymore justification to run for office. So what if he's angry, is an angry man with a grudge any worse then a man who has demonstrated how little he thinks of the average taxpayer time and time again and caters to a select few? Not in my book. I'm glad to know who's putting those signs out, Thank You Mr Robinson! I find it to be creative and an excellent example of freedom of speech. So what if they're placed in a right of way, there have been signs out for months in places where they shouldn't have been, where is your outrage of those? I don't see those signs placed where they are any dirtier then your using the children to make your slam on RR. Harold Rutledge has a family picture on his website, and he's made how many references to his wife during public forums? Doesn't sound like a man trying to keep his family out of the spotlight. I've seen those signs, they call no names, they've used a commonly accepted symbol for "NO". I don't believe for a moment those were put where they were to upset his children. They were put there for the voting public to see. The cruelty kids are capable of in school exceeds any effect those signs have by a mile. Your last line is especially telling, you start out trying to bring shame to a person calling dirty politics, picking on kids, and you end it by getting on the same level and showing a willingness to play dirty as well so just how are you any better then anyone else?

Packy, You want to dig up something from Mr. Robinson from 24 years ago? How about the forecloser paper work filed at the court house on Mr. Rutledges house on 8-19-08 (I would attach it but I'm not that good at it)? As my dad has taught me "son you take care of that roof over your head before anything else", I am glad Rutledge is not in charge of paying bills on time and keeping with what a contract says. I am not a Rutledge supported and I do not live in his district. The lien filed on 8/19 is a lien on the construction loan...not the entire house. I agree though...if you cant pay your own bills, you should not be on the BCC Submitted by vicedr on Wed, 08/20/2008 - 11:43pm.
If Robinson gets fined and Taylor doesn't something is seriously wrong. Taylor has violated so many county election laws it isn't even funny. His signs were out months before anyone put any out. I worry about people who think laws are for everybody else. I think Robinson has paid his dues in Clay County. He is obviously a good businessman and maybe he has alot to offer Clay County. I just don't want a whole bunch of realtors on the commission. We need diversity to bring new ideas to the table. Submitted by packy on Wed, 08/27/2008 - 9:02pm.
Marhsa you still angry that your husband wasn't intelligent enough to read his candidate package and follow the rules. As far as RR and those other signs, I aopoligize for accusing RR. Right Mr. Justino! Congrats to Ronnie. Enjoy your "part time job".
CONGRATS Wendell, Chris, Rick, Diane, Ben, and Angela!! Make us proud!!!

I'm not in D5 but I've been to enough forums to have heard all the candidates a few times.
I'd say Ronnie held his ground pretty well against the incumbent on every occasion.
I'm not so sure that I wouldn't have preferred him or even his brother-in-law Richard the dog to some of the board members we've had recently.
