Fay Forecast Improving
With every forecast update Fay's track appears to be taking it further to the east. The latest track has the extreme western edge of Clay County just outside of the Tropical Storm wind zone. The eastern 3/4 of the county is still forecast for tropical storm force winds although the sustained windspeed is showing a number in the 40's now which is a big improvement over last night. STILL, be ever vigilent and prepared. These forecasts that are put out by the National Hurricane Center are sometimes missleading in that things get worse than expected or things completely fizzle. Let's pray for a fizzle.

A few years ago I thought I was being clever by freezing bottles of water in my freezer. They would help keep the freezer cold in a extended power outage and then we could always have a cold drink once it thawed. I found out later on that you shouldn't do that, something about the extreme temperature and the plastic. I thought I would share on the off chance someone else had my lack of information.

Marsha, I don't think there is anything to worry about by freezing water to keep things cold. Just don't fill the container completely because unlike every other thing being froze, water expands when frozen. It would crack the container. But usng it as a huge ice cube is no problem. At least it hasn't been so far. :>)

Even with the continued shifting of Fay more to our east that WILL NOT diminish the possibilities of twisters. These can spin up suddenly with no warning, drop down, do damage and then disipate.
