Camp Blanding Buffer Zone

Please note that the final hearing on the Camp Blanding Buffer Zone will be held on August 26 at 7 pm at the Clay County Administration Bldg in Green Cove.  All home/landowners who could be affected by this blatant attempt to essentially annex our land should make plans to attend to ensure that our rights, land, and land values are protected.

The meeting that was held at McRae School a couple of months ago saw over 200 of our friends and neighbors come together to "take on city hall".  We need to rally the troops again so that the show of force is the same or more - the powers that be already tried to have this final meeting without advertising it and were (once again) caught with their proverbial pants down.  Once caught, however, my bet is that they will make only minimal attempts to advertise the meeting - believe me, they were not happy with the fact that the "peasants" railed against them and their shenanigans!

Please spread the word and make sure that anyone who could be affected by the so-called 3 mile buffer zone knows about and attends the meeting.  We really can fight city hall.

I overheard a conversation that the purpose of this buffer zone is because they want to add an air strip on Camp Blanding and the folks were speculating that maybe we will be training Iraqi pilots.

Has anyone heard this? Or is this just rumor ?

If true does this concerns folks in the area.

This issue hasn't gotten near enough attention and maybe because it is a sparsely populated area. This issue is critical to all of us as we are losing property rights every day and this is a bad presadent. The same thing happened in west Jax but enough people spoke out to get it reversed. Isee my grandkids living like this was Europe. or MEHEE CO.

I certainly hope that someone will defend this action.  At least the meeting is not during regular working hours.

This three mile buffer will almost double Camp Blandings area.  Yea, Yea, I can hear the voices, well you moved there, you should have known!! The almighty buyer beware phrase is probably coming out of all the mouths that live in O.P and G.C.S.

Most of us that choose to live in rural Clay County do so because we don't want to look out the front door and see the neighbor picking his nose...or maybe it's because we don't want the neighbors watching us pick our noses, either way we like the elbow room.

Well, let me say this The Sign Reads "The Sounds of Freedom" can be heard within 5 miles.  I personally have never complained about the "Bombs bursting in air".  I can deal with it, but this Buffer Zone is BS.

Camp Blanding has already stole the water that fills our lakes, now they want to take a 3 mile radius.  Give us a break... Sixty something thousand acres of ground isn't enough?  If Blanding can't build an air strip within Sixty something thousand acres, there is something wrong.  Whats wrong are the lakes and ponds overflowing causing flooding?

I'd sure like to see some comments on this thread from the political powerhouses that have so much to say about nothing.
