"Olly Olly Oxen Free"

I love all of you who have so much to say about issues. Pages and pages of opinions and slurs as you HIDE behind your Anonymity.  It reminds me of the KKK who did their deeds under their bed linen (sheets), and then showed up as honorable businessmen the next day after having just murdered innocent women, men and children the night before.

There is really no difference in what you do when you attempt to murder someone’s integrity, character, and reputation and then run and hide behind your silly User Names.   If you have an opinion (which you are entitled to as an American) be man and woman enough to stand up and own your words!   Come from behind your sheets!  See as an AMERCIAN Black, it makes me little nervous!

I don't think you getthe idea behind blogging, maam. Yer supoose to be able to express an opinion and talk back and forth. I agree slander is not called for and shouldnt be allowed but you are stuck with some bad berries in what's an otherwise good bucketful. Calling out anyone will only get you frustrated.

Once you played the race card you lost all credibility here. This is a forum of ideas. No one knows what anyone else looks like for a reason. Ideas are to be discussed. Yes, sometimes we go over the top but that's how you get to see the other side. It does not matter here what your race, sex or religion is. At least, it shouldn't.  I have found that to whom it does matter, they generally don't have anything of any depth to discuss anyway.

To have a public figure in office that hides his own family's dirty deeds is OK??? Who is confused here?   hmmmm Freedom of speech and opinion...and perhaps Justice for All!

U690593,

You raise a valid point, one which has been covered on these blogs before.  But I have to wonder, did it never occur to you to use equal amounts of imagination, common courtesy & a healthy dose of thinking & just ask us, instead of firing off an accusation & putting the label of "silly" with a very wide brush?  With this process, you would have gained not only some information you seeked, introduced yourself as a person to whom some respect could be shown and joined, in a friendly manner, the other bloggerati on this site.  But you chose a different route. As the knight said in an Indiana Jones movie, you chose poorly.

If you would have bothered to ask, instead of accusing, you would probably find a variety of valid reasons from the people on this blog.  Instead, I would venture to say that any reactions are going to be rather negative.  You may want to reconsider & try again.  We tend to be an understanding lot.

BTW, I notice that in addition to using your name, assuming that it's real, you also use a user name.  Is there a reason for that?  It seems to be superfluous, but I could be wrong.

I'm glad that U690593 is not the Supervisor of Elections... the name of every person who voted on election day would probably be listed in the newspaper, along with a list of everyone they voted for.

And yes, there are people who hate based upon the race, gender, age, nationality, religion, income, etc. of others, but those people are troubled.  They are looked down upon by decent folks when such intolerance surfaces to the detriment of others.

There are billions of people of one race, age, nationality, religion, income, etc. who love and respect those of another race, age, nationality, religion, income, etc., based upon the other qualities of those people.  And, one of those "other qualities" that people love best, is the absence of reference to race, age, nationality, religion, income, etc.

Th,

The KKK?  Are you serious?  Is that brain dead, knuckle dragging group of miscreants, a pus filled pimple on the butt of humanity still around?  Haven't they got the word.  White sheets are out.  Pastels are the in thing.  Don't they read the fashion pages?  Oops.  My bad.  I forgot.  They probably aren't smart enough to read.  Silly me.

I'll just have to burn a wooden question mark tonight in hopes that they stay under the nearest rock where they belong.  Although I can understand the comparison, sort of.  I guess this old yankee boy will have to do some reading to really understand the situation.

SoloVoce, your comments in your message above make it appear that you are one of those troubled people who will be looked down upon.  Seriously, get some help.

Old Timer,

By your comments, I will assume that you are not used to my type of mix containing humor, sarcasm along with social commentary.  My comments were directed towards those people whose diminished intellects, if there were any to begin with,  might still consider the KKK as having something near a socially redeeming factor in this country. Far from it.

But as I implied, you might be under a mistaken apprehension.  Unless you find something redeemable in a group like that.  Curiosity alone would demand an explanation.  This IS the south. after all.  As far as help goes, I've yet to meet a person who did not need some form of help.  That's what friends, relatives & fellow bloggers are for.  JATFUR.

Possibly we don't want to publicly make derogatory comments about Mike Taylor because we value our property and family.  I've heard of many who have stood up against the Taylors and had spontaneous vandalism.  You can denounce Beseler and you have no fears of retaliation.  That is the difference between the two.

As far as your comment that your daughter of 23 would still be alive if she never left Pace Island - I'm sorry for your loss but you can't expect to control your children and keep them home.  It sounds like you are very controlling of your adult children.  I don't claim to be a perfect parent but I somehow managed through the teenage years and mine are successful adults.  I did find by high school I had raised them a certain way and I had to let them go to make decisions while they were home to still get guidance.  You seem to want to criticize these girls for doing what all of us would be proud for our children to do.  You address the way the youth dresses for what point?  Maybe that is a different blog subject not that of dealing with a sexual predator.  And if you talk to Fleming Island parents that is what they will call him.  We are all disgusted the Principal and Superintendent did not pursue more serious action against this young man.  They have instead set a standard of acceptance for hazing.  For you to try to discredit these young girls just makes you look like a prudish witch and I don't think that is what your intent was.

You may wish that you could have protected  your child from harm by keeping her home, doing what you would wish her to do, not visiting someone they've only known three weeks.  But the truth is at 23 you have to allow them to make decisions because most children at 23 are living independently anyway.  You can't bring your child back by telling other parents to not let them go anywhere unescorted.  Things happen and that is so unfortunate.  Just as what happened to these girls.  Your daughter would want you to stand behind her if she was still alive and you would want her to stand up to her attacker wouldn't you?  Don't let her die in vain.  Stand up for the victim, not the attacker and his family. This is the perspective of a parent with children about the ages of yours.
