Weight Watchers 5
Week 10. I've lost 18.4 pounds, woohoo! Losing is fun. It feels much better to pay my $12 every week to the Weight Watchers people when I have lost some weight. Paying my $12 and then getting on the scale to learn I gained, is not fun. One lady in my class hit 61 pounds lost last night. My mom got a her second gold star for losing 10 pounds. You get a gold star for every five pounds you lose and everyone claps for you. That's fun.I think mom is jealous that I'm beating her. We are a competitive family. But I'm proud of my mom. She works her butt off every day delivering mail in Fleming Island. Maybe she's your mail carrier. I rode with her on her route on Take Your Daughter to Work Day about 10 years ago I guess. (Yes, I know that day is reserved for school aged children but mom begged, so I went. ) It was a hoot. The mail carriers have hilarious stories about stomping on a package to make it fit in a mailbox, only to look up and see the recipient watching. If a package will fit in the mailbox, then mail carriers don't have to take it up to the front door and ring the bell.Mom hates garbage day because cans block the path of her mail truck but she plows right in to them and scoots them out of her way, ever so gently. She gets tons of presents at Christmas time. Mom made a rule that if anyone on her route gives her food, she can eat it, diet breaker or not. One time she ate some cookies left in a mail box, only to discover a note attached explaining that the cookies were from a neighbor for the mailbox owner. Woops. Mom knows everyones business on her route, by the mail they get. During my ride with her, she pointed to home after home saying that poor woman's son is in jail, that man is in trouble with the IRS, this family has a son in the military, blah, blah. She's nosey, she should have been a reporter. Guess the apple didn't far fall from the tree. Beth Cravey's sweet tribute to her mother-in-law inspired this blog.
