I recently wrote a blog, directed at the Green Cove Springs City Counsel and Mayor. The blog was in reference to the counsel's lack of skills in attracting business and development. Mayor Kelter attempted to make me out as a communist because I stated the counsel should do more to attract businesses. I am by far a communist. I am just a citizen who wants to live in a good looking town and am tired of seeing vacant or run down buildings. I don't want the counsel to buy up vacant property. But, I do know that it is the job of a city counsel to attract businesses and new development to their cities. The Green Cove counsel should recognize this and begin some plan to "Sell" our town to new companies and residents. Maybe if we make or town more desireable we can pay for the things that we need (better roads, sidewalks, new police station) I mean, Green Cove should be a place people want to visit, not just a place some people pass through on their way to work!
I am by far a communist.
Your words not Mayor Kelter or mine.
Communism is a socioeconomic structure that promotes the establishment of a classless, stateless society based on common ownership of the means of production.
From the words of wikipedia.
I really don't think he made you out to be a communist. He rather, as simply as he could explained to yout the sitiuation on the ground. Although, he talked to you directly in a straight forward manner, i do not think that he was harsh or manipulative. It seems to me that you have a serious problem in thinking that the government is there to take care of you, perhaps socialism is your preference. In socialism, it's all about you and what the government can do for you. Granted you pay taxes and the government should do their jobs effectively and effeciently. However, GCS used to be a town made up of businesses, when those businesses, some of them at least move away or wnet out of business or moved closer to FI, tell me what the city is to do. I'm sure that the mayor desires not to live in a town that once was full of business. However, on the other hand you only pointed out a few problems, while there may be more, the problems you pointed out are not impossible tasks to overcome as a city. I don't live in GCS so frankly i couldn't care any less, Orange Park city counsel does a fine job and i think GCS does as well with the resources they have at the current. Mayor Kelter addressed you in a commonly fashion and it would be nice due to a citizen not hearing what they wanted to hear from a poly. if that citizen coul either join the fight for a better community or sit by the side lines with a non socialist attitude, all the while not accusing the Mayor of calling that citizen a communist. Just my thoughts.
