Local Fun instead of High Priced Gas Guzzuling Fun

Take a moment... breathe... now what do you want to do this summer?

sit around the house and play video games?
Pack you and 6 of your friends in a car and drive hours to a theme park just to know you have to drive back?

Why not take some time and rediscover what interesting places are around you already?
Better yet, grab a buddy and tour your local community.

Or

Enjoy the local flavor.

Remember, just because we know it's there doesn't mean we know why or how it became.

The city of GCS is opening their pool this weekend and the NEW pool at Camp Chow is open.

The pool in GCS is 100% natural spring water. It has been hailed as "healing waters" for a very long time. We have taken a boat ride down(up?) the St johns river to the newly refurbished pier in GCS and walked to the pool, cooled down. 78' degrees is really cold on a hot July day. And stepped over to Ronnie's for wings.

Camp Chow is a great place to cool off under the shade trees and take a walk along the pier to watch Black Creek. If you are so inclined they have very reasonable rates on the "treehouse" condos. It has become a favorite place to gather for Scouts and families. I haven't been in their pool yet but the YMCA is taking over the day to day operations, and they do a great job at keeping things safe and sound.
