My fellow bloggers,
In the past, & I assume it will continue into the future, I've had various comments on the actions of so-called conservative Republicans. Some of you, in turn, have had differences with my comments & that'd the way it should be. I've also asked that with all the different comments, none of you had provided me with a definitive definition of a conservative Republican. I think I may have some good news for you & me.
While I'm writing this, I'm also listening to the Diane Rhiem (sp) show on NPR. The guest is former Congressman from OK., Mickey Edwards, conservative (R) 1977-1993. He is also a lecturer at Princeton U. He wrote a book called, "Reclaiming Conservatism," & from what I've heard so far, this book is on my to buy list. He is giving a fascinating insight of his opinions, along with facts & dates. No way that I'm NOT going to read his book. No disrespect to my fellow bloggers of the conservative stripe, but I think that Congressman Edwards, with all of his years of experience as a conservative Republican, might provide in depth knowlege on a better scale of depth, understanding and knowlege than any of you, or I can provide.
As an aside. In case the subtlety escaped any one, some on these blogs have labelled NPR as a left wing &/or liberal leaning media source. Just to let you know, he is being interviewed and is being allowed to answer, & doing it well, with no shouting, no dogmatic political rhetoric and no egotistical pontificating. I have to say, TOLD YA SO!
As I said, this book is going on my to buy list. Whether one is right, left or independent, from what I've heard so far, the book sounds as if it will be a great learning experience. JATFUR. Toodles for now.
