Spring Cleaning(?)

I am having to get rid of a lot of children's books. Kevin has always been an avid reader, so in between amazon.com and books a million I have tons of books from picture books to about 3rd grader. I need to know of someone that could take them off my hands. I have given them to goodwill and my neighbors and just about any one with small children. I have heard of someplace that would take them but I can't remember where.(imagine that, me forgetting something).

I will deliver them...

How about the library, Pine Castle, or the children's consignment shop in M'burg (can't remember the name).

I don't know this place, you think the library would take the books? I hadn't even thought of that. as far as consignment goes I just want to be rid of them.

Maxie - Pine Castle is a long time school in Jacksonville for the developmentally challenged.  I know you just want to be rid of the books, but thought the consignment shop would take them off your hands since it's a children's store.  I do believe, though, the library (if for nothing else) could use them when they have the "sales".  I'm a firm believer in supporting our local libraries.  That's all I know.  Cool

any and all info is welcomed..I will check FI library and see if they want them. Friends of the library are always selling used books, I have used every library in the county, including the book mobile when it used to come to our area. When you have a child that loves to read it is hard to keep him in books... We just bought a book on Thursday and he is already half way through it. blessings, that he loves to read.

Maxie,

Have you considered contacting Quigley House?  Since the families that come to Quigley House often do so under stressful situations where children may have to leave possessions behind maybe they would have a use for them. Either to give to the kids or to provide reading materials while they are in residence.

I know there is a bookstore/swapshop type place in Jax where you can take your books in and then pick out others that are of interest, I just don't know the name or location.  As soon as I can get the name of that place I will email you with the information.

There is a store called Chamblin Bookmine at 4551 Roosevelt Blvd near the south end of Roosevelt Mall that you can take your books for sale or swap.  My wife has swapped books there for a few years now.  Could that be the store you're thinking of?
