CTLAC: Impatience causes confusion

I can think of only one statement we can agree on:  No one has any idea what will happen if the CTLAC petition passes.  Honestly, I can't be the only one who thinks this is more than a bit troublesome.  The blogs have been busy with people giving their best guess as to the outcome - abolish both seats immediately, chair for two years/at-large for two years, chair for four years /at-large for two years, etc.  It would almost make me chuckle except it is soberingly real.  The citizen initiative process is not set up so that a group can launch an "idea" of less government ("abolish the seats") and then leave it up the BCC and lawyers to figure out how on earth this is to be accomplished.  The fact is that the text of this amendment contains NO transition provisions that guide the revision of the commission.  The simple reason is this:  the CTLAC wanted their cake NOW, they didn't want to wait for a transition period which would allow for a clear, unambiguous path to a five member commission.  They sacrificed the voter with their impatience.  The group that claims to protect the people is trying to overturn a 2006 vote of the people with an amendment whose effect is unknown even to them.  This is a real problem.
