Apology from Lyons' WifeAlrighty then……..this would be Roy Lyons’ wife writing. I didn’t want to start my own blog site because it requires a different e-mail, etc., etc., etc. ……so I wrote the blog about the CAN debate on Roy’s blog. I am sorry if I upset all you people. I was just tired of everyone putting down my husband. He is tougher than I am and I guess more understanding. Bloggers really need to get a life. I am done with reading them because I have more important things to do and if I want something done or have an opinion I don’t sit at home and grip about it or scrutinize other people I go out and do something about it. I am not going to make up a “code name” as I am not ashamed of how I feel and what I say, so I don’t need to hide my identify from the public. As I said, I am sorry I wrote the blog in a fit of defensiveness. My husband is a wonderful man who has done a lot of good work for Clay County and will continue to do so. He does not deserve to be maligned by bloggers who sit home in their safe little cubicles and offer no solution or leave those safe little cubicles and go out and accomplish something. See? I can’t not get defensive. Roy has his face out there……where is yours? Also, I must add that Jane Padgett and cohorts also have their faces out there…..bloggers….where’s yours? I think for the third time I once again apologize to anyone whose toes I stepped on, but after 45 years of marriage I got a little defensive. This I can assure you will be my last visit to the Sun Clay Blog site so that I can’t read what demeaning things are being allowed to be printed about a person who has done a lot for this County and will continue to do so. I, personally have a life outside my computer. Dianne Lyons Mrs. Roy Lyons Submitted by alabayea on Sun, 05/11/2008 - 2:46pm.
Dianne Lyons for your confession. I'm sure you were told what most of us were that you DO NOT accuse someone of anything without proof, much less do it in another person's name. I am not a member of any of the organizations involved, however, I do support the efforts of CTLAC and intend to help them achieve their goals. Citizens who are willing to spend their own time and money for benefit of all without receiving or expecting anything in return has my respect and admiration. Roy's continued criticism of the opposition instead of debating the issues leaves much to be desired. Submitted by Republican on Mon, 05/12/2008 - 8:31am.
In my opinion the issue is not debatable. Big government is the problem, not the solution.

Mrs. Lyons, of all the people on the other side of the political fence from your husband, I probably have as great an understanding of your actions as any. Among the most ardent supporters of my candidacy for the District 3 seat on the County Commission is my mother.
Roy and I have been in the public arena a long time and have thick skins. Because we do put ourselves out there, our human impefections can be magnified and people may talk about them. Once in awhile some of it is so absurd it might cause us to laugh, while those closest to us just get angry.
One of my biggest considerations in making the decision to run was my mother's reactions to whatever negative will be said or written about me. In Mom's case, I think if she stays away from my public appearances she won't feel the need to punch out anyone. Mom reads 'em, but she doesn't blog or it may be possible she would do the same thing you did - defend your loved one first and worry about the consequences later. Sometimes that's what family does.
To me, I appreciate you explaining your actions and there's really no need for you to apologize. But since you issued a general public apology, I'll certainly accept it publicly. And to both you and Mom, Happy Mother's Day.
