State Attorney's Office

Now here is a story that may warm the cockles of a few hearts:

Seems as if Harry S is being sued because he did not provide public records that were requested. It is alleged that his handpicked protege/replacement asked for a campaign contribution while talking on a government phone on government time. Apparently this is a no-no.

Mike Folio had a great article this week. It was about the State Attorney candidate using county resources for political gain. Sounds like Jett and his county vehicle at a campaitn rally. When they asked for the public records that verifies his calls and other records related. They did not turn all of them over and the lawsuit happened. Should be interesting to say the least.

I was glad I picked up my copy of the Folio today and read the article about Jay Plotkin, candidate for State Attorney (Shorestein's boy) using county resources for political gain and campaigning on work time. While I read the information on the same topic in the financially strapped T-U today, I did not understand it nearly as well as the story covered in Folio.

This is yet another example of Folio investigating and covering a story first, while T-U sleeps.

Same allegations were made against current clerk's office employee who ran for a city position in Green Cove....apparently this conduct is accepted because now this employee is running for Supervisor of Elections in Clay.

Plotkin can avoid all of these shenanigans by taking a leave of absence until the election is over. Not all of the 400 plus employees of the State Attorneys Office are supporting him and I am sure they feel pressure to support him with his presence in the office. Plotkin do the right thing and take a leave of absence and you can avoid all of these allegations and our tax dollars can be spent on trying criminal cases instead retrieving e-mails from state computers about your campaign and paying your salary while you are being deposed in a civil lawsuit over a public records request alleging campaigning while on the job.
