At Last, A Breath of Common Sense

As Ron Littlepage likes to say, "While Clicking Around the News Dial,"  I came across this article in the Gainseville Sun, Capitol Bureau, by Joe Follick, printed 05.05.08.  It has to do with the "Truck Nutz," issue & the wedge issues of abortion & evolution.  I think it pretty much sums up a lot of feelings.

"I think it's just an indication of a growing sentiment that the Legislature is out of touch with where people really are,'' said Rep. Keith Fitzgerald, D-Sarasota. "We're up here debating these highly emotional and symbolic and sometimes just downright silly bills when there are real and immediate problems that people want us to be addressing. What I'm getting is striking anger on the part of moderates.''

Yes, Yes.  I know.  Representative Fitzgerald is A Democrat.  Left up to some of you, I imagine the description would also include such colorful, descriptive terms such as, "Radical, left wing & godless."  But in order to be Fair & Balanced, (FAB) it must be pointed out that neither I nor any of you wrote the article, so it must stand as written.  Point is, someone who would normally be considered one of the , "Powers That Be," came out publically to say what so many have been saying for so long.  IMHO, I think it is a fresh breath of common sense.

On a side note, my readings lately have brought @ a bit of an epiphany.  I won't go into the evolution issue because after a certain amount of time, it gets quite tedious stating the totally obvious.  It has to do with the abortion issue.  I, like many other people who are pro choice, considered it to be a religious issue, in the main.  I read a different perspective on it which shed another ray of light.  If any of you wish to know, I'll be more than happy to put it in this blog.

Have a great one & definitely enjoy the Chamber of Commerce weather.  JATFUR.
