Home Instead Senior Care 10-Year Anniversary Celebration

Toni Marinelli, owner of the Home Instead Senior Care offices serving Duval, Clay, Bradford, Union and Alachua Counties, is celebrating 10 years in business.  Her company was founded in 1998 as part of a franchise network that has become the largest of its kind in the world.

In celebration of the anniversary, Marinelli will host an open house from 3-6 p.m. on June 5th, at the Home Instead Senior Care office located at 165 Wells Rd., Suite 301, in Orange Park.  The event, which will include jazz music and refreshments, is open to the public.

The national numbers help tell the story of the local office’s growth.  By 2030, nearly 20 percent of the population will be over 65, according to the Census Bureau.

To meet this emerging need, more than 760,000 personal and home care aides in the United States currently care for other individuals, mostly older adults, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. 

This job category has increased from 701,218 jobs in 2004 to 767,257 in 2006 – a 9.4 percent increase in just two years, according to the Labor Department.  By 2016, this category is projected to grow more than 50 percent, the Labor Department reported.  Home Instead Senior Care’s more than 50,000 U.S. CAREGivers represent about 6.5 percent of the workforce in this U.S. job sector.

Locally, Marinelli has built a staff of more than 150 CAREGivers and seven office staff members.  “We owe our success in large part to our dedicated staff,” Marinelli said.  “The strong company brand and reputation have helped establish Home Instead Senior Care locally, and the company’s franchise formula provided me with a successful model, which served as a road map to help the business thrive.”

Marinelli is currently a member of Clay Women in Business, Clay County Chamber of Commerce, Gainesville Chamber of Commerce, Hidden Oaks Association, Middleburg Civic Association and the Clay Advocacy Council. After serving on different boards for many years, Marinelli now acts as a supporting member and assists newly elected board members as needed.
