Great suggestion but you can do the same. What interests you? I know I ramble on about politics but I do try to bring a certain amount of levity to the blog on different, if inane, topics. I, too, get mind numbed by a lot of the arcane stuff although it is a great learning tool. Angela, alone, is worth her weight in gold with her fact archeology projects. Go girl. Throw one out. Just don't say anything bad about the the ironically named "Fair Tax" or you'll be ridiculed. Their is only so much free speech allowed by some.

I laughed out loud when I read your comment, Maxie. I logged on so I could answer Snookie's question about users and guests. Snookie - you can have a user name and unless you log in, you are considered a guest when you are in the MCS or any other website requiring a user name and password to make a comment. I believe there are 100s of 'members' who are registered. In order to be counted as a "user", one must be logged in as jimmaxie and Sunflower are at this moment. The others who are just lurking and being nosy (as I usually am), are "guests" whether or not they have a login. Most of the guests are registered as few can resist joining us in our quest for knowledge of Clay County and each other. I trust this answers your query re: users and guests. If not, feel free to ask again as I'm sure someone here will be able to help. Judy Link to petition: http://24.23.126.8/Petition.pdf Submitted by aubeachbum on Sat, 04/26/2008 - 6:58am.

Snookie Yes I noticed that myself. Please feel free to post a blog in your area of interest anything from the same ol same would be refreshing. Just don’t’ ever politely suggest to anyone a book to read unless of course it’s on their own personal favorites list. There are some here that will attack it like a blowfly on animal feces, even prior to them ever reading the book. Then once their ego’s are hurt so bad for being “called out” on that fact they did not read the book, they will go on the attack. Believe it or not, they will then go way out of their way to read the book, under the ruse that they will educate and inform fellow bloggers. But of course fairness will not be part of their agenda. It will be lies through omission, and blathering spin. Then what they will do to keep their ego’s polished and shinny is at every chance they get, they will continue to make little digs. Pathetic and vindictive deed. They just can’t grow up, they can’t get over it. Maybe some of the guests have noticed the same. Thats just my opinion I could be wrong. TRUTHHURTS

TH; Perhaps part of the problem with the 'Fair Tax' book review is that it did not meet your expectations that if someone just reads the book they will be thoroughly convinced and they will immediately jump on that band wagon. It just seems to me that you have the idea that this book and this idea is the great panacea. I think you have your expectations set too high (or low as the case may be). This book is not going to convince everyone to come over to the dark side. I could do all the study in the world, 24/7 for as long as you want me to and I will not be convinced that this is a viable option. Did I say it was a bad thing that you support the concept? No! I and many others just aren't going to. You may not like the comments made in the review or the comments afterward but the fact is, she read the book and still didn't like it. It's kind of like telling a devout Jew that if they just read the New Testament they would convert to Christianity and be 'True Believers'. Not going to happen on a regular basis. Many wouldn't get past the first Gospel. Mike Heemer http://24.23.126.8/ Petition for choice (5 or 7) in Nov.

Mike No sir, not at all. I knew not everyone would think this book was a good idea. You and I have spoken to this as did Foxx and myself and in my opinion you both addressed yourselves and your points were taken just fine. I have no problems with either of your summations and reasoning it's not for you. We respectfully agreed to disagree. I guess my real objection stems from very start. All I did was make a suggestion that folks may want to read a book and look at a different idea on the topic. Once I made that suggestion it was aggresively attacked by some one that did not read the book, and it was clear hated the authors. It was also clear that after this person that I went back and fourth on with this subject, was "outed" for not reading the book, made it personal to them. Their ego was hurt. This person was now willing to read the book (by some one she hates) just to make a dig. There was never any real good intention on this persons part other then to sling mud. Well after this whole issue had passed. This person still continues to make little digs, and gets applause for it, but thats ok too. I think this person is very vindictive, and childish. TRUTHHURTS

Ahh! I see, he said. It's personal between you and Lily. I'll get out of that line of fire and shut up. Not my problem (I have enough of my own), not my business. Mike Heemer http://24.23.126.8/ Petition for choice (5 or 7) in Nov.

Mike I am shocked. You did not correct my Spelling (review, not reveiw) As to making it personal and staying out of it, I don't blame you. The fact is she just won't drop it and the little digs continue. Thats ok because I will give back if thats what she likes, or I will drop it. No worries here.

Tee off is at 10 AM? I'll bet you sleep in till 7 right? My lovely bride and I play 3 times a week. We tee off at 0730 (untill they start opening at 0700 on the 1st). By 1000 we've already played 16 or 17 holes worth and we walk. Be that as it may, have a great round. Enjoy! Mike Heemer http://24.23.126.8/ Petition for choice (5 or 7) in Nov. I generally blog in only political blogs. However, I would encourage anyone to start a blog about what they would like to talk about with the community. This is open to all and is a great communication tool for all in the county. I read all of the blogs. I don't comment in all the blogs due to interest and/or time. So everyone should get involved and enjoy the blogs. MCS you are awesome! Ms. Lily in my world you are the top drawer. I've never met you and wouldn't know you if I saw you. You are still the top drawer as defined by Webster (the highest level of society, authority, or excellence) in Angela's world. With you being a teacher, I can only offer one thing in my defense "analytical thinking". It is good for the mind. Don't forget animal control is another subject that can take over the blogs.
