I've had the pleasure of following the Blogs for quite some time. However never felt inclined to post myself.
I am a registered voter of Clay County, and whilst my husband is active duty Military and we are stationed away from our hometown, it sure is nice to get a feel for the political activities going on there from real Clay County residents.I read the paper , the internet and watch the new as much as possible to keep up to date. The media does not always present things in the truest light.
As of late I'm quite concerned about certain individuals who seem to want to keep political subjects from being discussed within the blogs. In my mind the political issues that are affecting Clay County should be one the most important issues on a site such as this.
For those who are discouraging the recent talk of the petition,I'd advise since you strongly disagree with it, why not post your own opinions, instead of trying to abolish the discussion in its entirety? My husband is one of many who are fighting for your rights to free speech every day. Please dont be confused, it's YOUR free speech, not for you to remove the rights of others.
Once again, these Blogs are en excellent way for many people to keep in touch with whats going on in our area. For those of you who feel " real " issues being discussed here is putting a damper on your social life on the internet, I'd suggest trying EHarmony, or possibly your local bar!
I'd personally like to thank all of you who continue to post on these Blogs amidst the flaming of such individuals, sometimes what is right isnt easy. The information is truly appreciated by me, and I'm sure many like me, who are out of state serving their country, and dont want to forget their hometown in the process :)
