Thanks For The Break

Well it has finally happened.  What has been for many months an enlightening and entertaining source of information has turned into a mess.

Great - we all know how to write a blog about nothing.  I told you guys this 5+2 deal is really not so important that we bring this lively blog site to a grinding halt with tons and tons of nonsense.  We get to vote on it in November - assuming the CTLA gets enough sigs to re-qualify.  Can we at least wait until then to beat each other up over some local government issue that - no matter what - will not cause the collapse of Clay County.

I needed a break anyway.  Now, thanks to blog-filibustering, I've got a good reason.  Later.

I'm sorry you feel that way about it Baxley, I don't see it as a mess at all. I see people using what is available to them to communicate with other citizens about a timely issue.  I'm not beating anyone up, I am not whining about the petitions that were thrown out and I've taken my stand based upon the solid principle of economics.  I'm doing everything that you said in these blogs a few months ago that you could "respect" and now you regress.

I don't call it "nothing" and it's not so important to you because if everyone sits backs and is mellow, don't say much, don't do much then the prize you've worked so hard for will have finally been awarded while you work to lock those jobs in concrete before you even get them in office.

I'm a little surprised that you would in generalization dismiss peoples opinion as "nonsense" because you're on the opposite side of the issue.

That's what worries me about Goverment and these two new jobs.  We don't need anymore suits looking down their noses at the people who put them there and pay their salaries.

Enjoy your break.

Bax;

I somewhat disagree about at least one thing. If all these petitions get on the ballot and they all pass, it may not cause the County Government to 'collapse' but it sure as heck is going to cause a huge sink hole that will take a long time to dig out of, or detour around.

It just can't be good to have an amendment to need 66% to get rid of an elected positon. What possible justification can there be for this? You seem to be a logical man, please give me something that makes sense as to the need for this.
