Curioser & Curiouser, But Very Typical

As I usually do in the AM after reading the news, I go to my favorites on the computer to catch up on other news sources.  On one of them, I ran across one that put my radar into overdrive.  It said that over 90% of historians questioned, assess Bush's presidency, so far, as a failure.  You bet your baklava I had to read this one.  N.B.  For those of you who are new to the blogs, you should know that Uncle Rich is no fan of "W".  In fact, the kindest thing I can say @ him (after all, this is a family type blog) is that after next Jan. 20th, he'll be back on the ranch where he belongs, doing things for which he is well suited.  That is, unless, he made other arrangements with yet another one of his signing statements or executive orders.  He's been know to do that, you know.

Checking the story, which was only a few paragraphs long, it went on to say that @ 109, I forget the actual number, historians did indeed paint a very negative picture of the current president.  No huge surprise there.  DUH!

But what caught my eye was that it was a site where people could comment on the story.  So, being the curious beast that I am, I started reading the comments.  After @ a dozen or two, I gave up.  Without exception, they claimed bias because they made the claim that historians are liberal left wingers.  So I said to myself, I said, said I, "Enough is enough!  I have more important things to do than sit here reading this bashing drivel, this superfluous falderol.  After all.  I AM  Uncle Rich.  I am an important person with important things to do! I will go & count my socks."  But then it hit me upside the head.

No names of the historians were mentioned, yet the writers branded them & pretty much all historians as liberals.  Curious.

No mention of where the historians worked & yet, they were branded liberals.  Curious.

No mention was made of the educational or professional credentials of the historians, yet they were branded as liberals.  Curious.

No mention of political party affiliation of the historians was made, yet they were branded as liberals.  Curious.

No mention was made of any past works of the historians, yet they were branded as liberals.  Curious.

I find it curious, yet oh so very typical, that there are certain types of people who will draw a conclusion & make a charge with little or no information, let alone pertinent information.

I find it curious, yet oh so very typical, that there are certain types of people who will do the above without bothering to do any research & apparently without the benefit of any thinking, critical or otherwise.

So much for the thinking processes, or lack of them, of certain types of people.

Curious, yet oh so very typical.  JATFUR.
