Gossip Girl?

Don't get me wrong. I'm not a prude or anything...but I'm REALLY glad I don't have a girl that watches some of these shows they have on TV today!  What happened to Andy Griffith, The Munsters and the Beverly Hillbilies.... Sealed.... okay...well...maybe I'm a little bit of a prude! Just kidding! I'm not that bad. But seriously some of today's shows are really bad and they are on 'primetime' 8pm!

wwife,

It's called the "NUMBERS" strategy. The larger number of people you get to watch your program, the larger the fee (numbers of dollars) you can charge your advertisers.  That comes down to larger profits & dat's da name of dat tune.  It's not a new idea at all.  Basing profits, philosophy or a base of power on the sheer weight of numbers in your favor has been utilised for thousands of years & unless there is a really unexpected rise in societal intelligence, it will continue well into the future.  JATFUR.

It's sad that kids watch some of this garbage ....and that the parents allow them.  It's also sad to see how many kids today do not respect adults.  Not just yes-sir or no-sir I mean just speaking to an adult in a nice, pleasant, respectful manner.  My son is a 2nd degree black belt and I have watched some of the other kids in his dojang (K2life your's is not one of them Laughing) talk to their Grandmaster with complete disrespect and rudeness and the mother just laugh like there's nothing wrong with it.  If my son spoke to ANYONE that way he would have me to deal with.  It's terrible.

wwife,

That comes under the heading of Common.  Common courtesy.  Common sense. Common respect for others.  Common respect for yourself.  And yes, it starts at home where it must.  Or, as in some of the cases you mintion, they don't.
