The Rebates Are Coming, The Rebates Are Coming!

Just in time? I doubt it. Will they make a difference? Nope. But, better in my hands than Congress' hands. I am passing along this little missive I received today. Enjoy!

As you may have heard, the Bush Administration said each and every one of us would now get a nice rebate. If we spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China. If we spend it on gasoline, it will all go to the Arabs. If we purchase a computer, it will all go to India. If we purchase fruit and vegetables, it will all go to Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala. If we purchase a good car, it will all go to Japan. If we purchase useless crap, it will all go to Taiwan, and none of it will help the American economy.
We need to keep that money here in America, so the only way to keep that money here at home is to buy Prostitutes and Beer, since those are the only businesses still in the US.

So now we know New York's Governor Spitzer was looking out for the good old USA.

Laughing Laughing Laughing

What to do when just one won't do?

So the new guy was an un-American unpatriotic idiot because he wasn't paying for the 'services' rendered. How gauche!

Lily, that letter telling you to expect some spare change from Uncle Sam cost more than spare change itself.

At a time when the record national debt increases by the minute, when soldiers are sent into battle without the proper equipment and brought home to underfunded veterans hospitals, when American infrastructure is decaying, when taxpayers are already overburdened, this single letter cost taxpayers more than $40 million.

Somewhere, someone in government's priorities need a change.
