This topic  and dicussion in the blog  may go a long way in showing where we are headed in this country. I think a majority of people over 50 are conservative and the persentage drops steadily with age. What I find scary is the growing belief that government is the only answer to everything and yet it is a failure at almost everything it does. I and many conservatives like me feel that our education system is a complete failure and the lack of knowledge about where we came from and the price our anscestors paind for us to have what we have in this countryis the major cause of our decline. I think the beginning of the decline was with the Carter presudency, but many go back to FDR. I am watching a house being built. One crew is predominately Mexican ( LEGAL ) and the other sub's are local typical " American " crew. The mexican workers start at first day lite and quit when too dark to work, with one break for lunch. The other crews show up between 8 and 9 and leave berween 3 and 4 with several breakes in between. This has been a real eye opener for me.

  . I can't understand the logic behind the tax the rich successful people more and give it to the unsuccessfull failures in society. Yes I know there are a few out therewho are a victum of circumstances  beyond their controll, but the vast majority are a victum of poor decisions on their part and ignorance. I think 80-90% of liberals live off government checks in one form or another.

 Every Conservative I have ever met has strong values and every liberal I know has few to none. Every conservative I know thinks for them self and most liberals are content to let somebody else think for them and they don't have to waste time learning enough to make a decosion.

 Untill recently the media in this country haw controlled the flow of information and shaped the way most people think. Not just by what they report but what they didn't report. Hopefully it appears that between the inter-net and talk radio we are going to change some as we get a more balanced flow of info about what is going on.

 We can't continue life as we know it with Government growing at twice the rate of the GNP.

 I realize most won't understand that statement but in a few years it won't matter
