The newest candidate for sheriff is not the person that one blogger stated.  Paul Abernathy has a record that exemplifies qualities unlike that of a sheriff.  He was not hired or re-hired at the sheriff's office due his actions of distributing dope back in the seventies.  From what i was told by Abenathy it is the policy of the sheriff that anyone who has sold or distributed dope in their lives cannot be hired, so it is highly unlikely that the sheriff is interested in Abernathy splitting the vote as he would not want this association.  Abernathy is also the pastor at a small church in middleburg, however, this church has failed in every attempt to grow due to Abernathy's failed ability to lead.  He was a former youth pastor at Black Creek Baptist in penny farms until he made false allegations against the pastor and was eventually forced to leave.  Now after all this he wants to the sheriff of an institution that would not even re-hire him, this is not the kind of person needed at the sheriffs office, don't allow this Ralph Nader of clay county to split the vote or take the vote from serious potential sheriffs
