get rid of Rick BesslerI think that this county needs a real Seriff because R bessler is the worst, I had over a half a million dollars stolen from my family and the sheriffs office is a joke they wont even write a report, I have a judges orders that say it is a theft and still no sheriffs help, get a real law enforcement agency to do something and get rid of the trash. Yes finder.....I'd like to know the answers to your questions also, especially the one about the judges order Now Mike, let's not be hasty in assuming it's just another blast at the Sheriff in order to pump up Mike Taylor. There are other candidates for sheriff in addition to Mike Taylor! To my knowledge the other three candidates, Gary Newman, Leroy Ennis and Paul Abernathy are still active. Skateboy, I'd really like to hear your answers to Mike's questions. Thanks, Stryker

I thought that if a citizen is adamant about filing a report that there is an obligation to do so? How does something even get to a Judge if there is no Police Report? If there is a "Judgement" and it's not paid, welcome to my world, I have a Judgement nearly three years old without a dime paid which violated probation but nothing was done but to let him OFF probation. But getting money back is not the job of CCSO is it? So far in these blogs the only thing I have seen "for" Mike Taylor originates from attacks on the incumbent Sheriff. I would rather hear what he has to offer so far as qualifications and what he will do differently rather then just "Elect Mike Taylor because the Sheriff sucks" If all you have to offer is attacks on your competition then there is something seriously lacking in more ways then one.

It may have been the "elect Mike Taylor" tag on the blog.

Stryker; I had to do a mea culpa last time. The tag for the blog says 'Vote for Mike Taylor'. Mike Heemer

No disrespect intended but I find it hard to believe that a half mill. was stolen and the Sheriff's office wouldn't take a report. I would have to say much more information is needed here.

Skaterboy may be promoting taylor for sheriff, but only because the other three candidates except for Beasler are wasting their time. Take notice to the financial statements, Taylor and Beasler are your serious candidates. Skaterboy, if you are dumb enough to think that people will believe your story then maybe you should join the three candidates who have no chance. Submitted by stryker on Sun, 03/02/2008 - 1:26am.
Finder.....OOPS Marsha, thanks for giving me insight......we all need it! Stryker

Foxx, while I agree that the story in the original blog really strains a rational person's ability to believe, I didn't want to skip right by one of your premises. There are many reasons to run for office. As many, at least, as there are candidates. And each candidate determines his own campaign strategy. Some, like me, may choose to campaign on issues instead of chasing campaign donations to tout my family values and special interest endorsements in slick, full-color mass mailings or expensive TV commercials. It doesn't mean I can't, or even won't, eventually seek donations to help get my word out. But there are ways to reach voters that don't require taking bundles of $500 checks gathered by lobbyists. Is it hard? Well, yeah. Are the odds in my favor? Well, no, but that doesn't make it a "waste of time." If money is all that's required to determine a candidate's viability, then why don't we skip the election and just hold auctions for every elected office? Michael S. Mann

Police reports are written to document the facts of an alleged crime. Traffic crash reports are written to document the cause of a traffic crash. I believe there is more to the story than what Skatertboy is telling us. Its sounds like an ongoing civil dispute over property and some kind of agreement written or verbal. Believe me if you show up at the Sheriff’s Office and say I have had 500K stolen from me in currency or property it is going to get some attention. The facts were probably reviewed and it was determined there was no criminal intent and the matter is a civil dispute. If a judge has ruled this matter a theft than why not ask the State Attorney to investigate if the Sheriff refuses? The judge can give a jingle to the Chief State Attorney in the county and say hey this needs to be investigated and they would be all over it. The state attorney has investigative powers and investigators that can make arrest. I smell something here that you find in a cow pasture. Submitted by Angela on Sun, 03/02/2008 - 10:32pm.
I heard recently and I think Baxley mentioned this on the blogs as well. Concerning a family up in Keystone Heights that was having trouble with neighbors and could not get a police report filed. I think this lady attended the meeting in Keystone where Sheriff Beseler addressed the community. This was concerning a neighbor hanging a noose in their yard. This should have been considered a hate crime. They decided to leave the county. Due to problems in the State of Florida they intend to address this at the upcoming session in Tallahassee. I thought they already had laws on the books to cover this type incident. People are talking about ...Here are the recent blog postings with the most comments. |

Care to elaborate?
How did you get a judge's order to state it is a theft if there wasn't a report?
What type of help have you asked for? Who refused to help? Which agency do you want help from? Do we need to get rid of the entire CCSO? How many people fit the 'trash' definition?
To me this sounds like just another random shotgun blast to denigrate the Sheriff and try to pump up Mike Taylor as a candidate.
But I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and give you an opportunity to present some facts.
