Another Sheriff Candidate

I hear that we now have another candidate for Clay County Sheriff. I will not mention his name as that is his job.

This gentleman used to work for the S.O. as an electrician and was well liked, and did fine work. He left the S.O. for several years and then asked Rick to hire him back, but was refused.

Now he wants to run for the office, or does he? Is he being put in the race by Rick to divide the vote, with the promise to hire him if Rick is re-elected?

This gentleman has deep spiritual ties around the county which could be used by the Rickster to counter the Taylor campaign.

One word of advise, you better ask around town and see how good Rick's word is before you get in too deep. You are too nice a guy to be used if that is indeed what is happening.

Your blog sounds like one of those half wit kind of questions like  'Have you stopped beating your wife yet?'. If he's using you, you're too nice a guy to be used but if he's not you shouldn't be in the race anyway because you're hurting my candidate's chances of winning.

If I had some ham, I'd have a ham and cheese sandwich, if I had some cheese.

Man, if Rick is so good as to be able to pull off a stunt like you are implying, then he's my kind of guy. Smarter and more devious than the crooks. Sounds to me like the union lap dog may not stand a chance against these types of tactics.

But then, I see your tactics as above reproach either.

Are we talking about the Sheriff who has greatly increased crime rates since he took office? I don't care who's commits the crime he was elected to prevent crime not find people to blame.

Is this the same person that started the Animal Abuse Program evidently without any policies to start up the program? If you start a program without policies and procedures it is destined to fail. I guess we see the results of that program on the blogs and in the news.

Is this the same person who has caused the Union to be voted in the Sheriff's Office? Does he get the honor of saying he is the first Sheriff to have his staff turn on him because they felt he did not back the very people he was elected to lead?

I think I saw this same thing happened in the contest for the last Sheriff. Many signed up as candidates but few were left in the end. It's a long time to November and the voters are smart enough to see what's going on.

As far as the statment that the new candidate may be a ploy after some of the above. I'll have to think about if he's smart enough for that strategic move or not.

Beasler needs to go! He put someone in charge in his absence who knows didly squat about law enforcement. Did you all know that Beasler was run off of Foremans Circle 2 Saturdays ago with his tail between his legs? I don't want to get on my soap box about the Sheriff but when someone speaks about change, he is the first thing to come to mind.

Beasler promotes and rewards those who do his dirty work instead of those who have earned promotion through hardwork and tenure. The Deputies that have weathered emabarrasement through the years and remained faithful to the office and not the man, have suffered the most. And those that take a stand are systematically removed and forced out.

How can Beasler justify bringing his cronies from the State Attorney's Office in Jax. with no experience to run a Sheriff's Dept. They have botched crime scenes and put Deputies in harms way by using tactics that are less than favorable in serious situations.

Angela, you bring up a good point. He creates a position (Animal Abuse Investigator) and doesn't write policy on how to administer the position. Sounds really like he's on the ball. In closing, I do not have any confidence in the Sheriff of Clay County. My votes going to be cast in another direction.
