Spring Has Sprung
"Spring has sprung, the grass has ris', I wonder where the flowers is?" Poor grammar aside, that little ditty pops into my head this time of year. My Mom used to say that to us every year when spring would roll around. Today's weather was great Chamber of Commerce weather (except in Clay County, that's usually a good thing The only down side is that soon I'll have to break the mower out. Ugh! I'm thinking of buying some goats - no kidding. Well, the mower, and of course the Florida state bird - the mosquito. Can't it just stay February forever?

I did notice my navel orange tree has the ever so small blossoms on it. I love that smell, orange blossoms. MMmmmm. My neighbor has like 7 really big orange trees, so we really get a fruity smelling time. Here it is mid Feb and we are talking about blooms and flowers and my grass is still green! Didn't turn all yucky brown this year yea!
Yeah I like Florida!

Baxley you have another gorgeous day outside, I hope the skies clear some though so we can catch a view of the Lunar Eclipse tonight. Spring is definitely springing, I have a yellow layer of pollen all over the veranda and it's even gotten through the screening on the back side of the porch, the girls have been writing "wash me" all over it, they've sealed their fate.

Yes Bax, today was a beautiful day, my kind of day
....even had the windows and doors open for a couple of hours....inhaling the wonderful aroma of fresh cut grass. It's days like today and many others that I am glad to be a 'Floridian'. Our azeleas are in bloom, the deep red ones, and they are so full and pretty this year. I even have rose buds!!! The bougainvillaea is coming back nicely and when in bloom is a mass of the brilliant purple and the red....use to be just purple!! Think we have supplied half the neighborhood with cuttings. "It's a wonderful day in the neighborhood" and yes, "Can't it stay February forever?"
