I dare say none of the people who devote their time, energy and resources to rescuing animals; none of the people who work directly with the animals for the county; and none of the people who have been blogging incessantly about Clay County Animal Control care more about animals than I do. I would love to see Animal Control work at peak efficiency, which would include never euthanizing an animal in the face of a viable alternative.
How to reach that goal of peak efficiency is, like all things government, worthy of debate. But what's been happening on MyClaySun's website has far exceeded real debate about Animal Control and, if it continues, those bloggers (from either side of the issue) will only succeed in making the public so tired of the issue that they just want it to go away - and that will not bode well for the animals everyone cares about.
So, please, I'm beggin' everyone. Let it go away. Not forever. Just a break so everyone can catch their breath. Take the weekend off, and go on a picnic - somewhere far away from a computer keyboard. Explore those parts of your life forgotten since this issue exploded onto and began dominating MCS.
Just a timeout - so the rest of us can enjoy MCS, too, because the rudeness you've directed at one another isn't confined to just yourselves. You may be unaware of some aspects of your actions that are extremely rude to everyone else who likes to blog or just read the blogs of My Clay Sun.
We're tired of opening the blog page and seeing Animal Control in four or five of the 10 blog topics and pushing other people's contributions aside in your repetitious pettiness. Counting this personal plea, there will be FIVE Animal Control blogs of the 10 on MCS' page. The rest of us are also tired of not being able to see who's discussing any of other people's blogs because the Animal Control whizzin' contestants have eaten up the "Recent comments" column on the right of the page with all the "You're fat!" and "You're skinny!" kind of contributions.
So, please, just until Monday. Have mercy and let the rest of us enjoy the MCS playground without you bullies dominating everything.
