Rick Beseler Endorses Angela Corey for State Attorney

I saw on the news tonight and later on the internet that Clay County Sheriff Rick Beseler (along with Sheriff Rutherford and Seagraves) endorsed Angela Corey for State Attorney.  While I have no problem with the endorsement, I do question his lack of integrity and consistency regarding political endorsements.

Isn't this the man that recently told the Fraternal Order of Police and the public that he felt the FOP was being premature to endorse a candidate for Sheriff in his race?  I find it very suspect that he has concern over an endorsement in his race and cites it "premature", but has no problem endorsing Angela Corey whose race will run simultaneous to his own.

If it is good for him to endorse his candidate of choice for State Attorney, why is it not good for the FOP to endorse their candidate of choice for the Sheriff's race?

The reason it wasn't okay for the F.O.P. to make an endorsement this early was because he KNEW it would not be Rick being endorsed.By the way, back in early 2004 wasn't there a photo and big story in the Times Union or Clay Today of Rick accepting an endorsement and check from the Clay County Firefighter's Union when he was running for Sheriff. He had promised them that he world GIVE them a million dollars out of is excess budget so they could get some raises. Instead he gave the money to the county (just like he knew he had to by law and a practice he has continued to do for free publicity) and left the Firefighters under paid and reportedly really peeved. What's acceptable for Rick is not necessarily acceptable for all.
