Cover Up?

Sources tell me the internal affairs investigation against Detective Annie Henderson has been completed finding her at fault on one violation dealing with the purchase of a horse she made by using a friend's name to purchase a horse that she confiscated under her authority as Sheriff Beseler's deputy.  I am told her punishment is a verbal reprimand.  Can you believe that a deputy sheriff can seize property from a citizen in this county, then assume ownership of that property under false pretenses and the only punishment is a verbal reprimand "you did something wrong, don't let it happen again?"

Sounds like felony horse theft to me.  I want to know what this deputy's relationship to Rick Beseler is and why he is not out front on this one.  This is simply wrong.  Animal Control may have problems.  But, it appears the Sheriff's Office is right in the middle of this and the citizens of this county deserve greater accountability from the Sheriff.

Sources also tell me that the only reason this internal affairs investigation was reinvestigated was due to the media coverage surrounding Animal Control.  Prior to the hype, Detective Henderson was found not guilty of any misconduct.

Sources also tell me that Detective Henderson is married to Deputy Mike Henderson who worked with Sheriff Rick Beseler at the State Attorney's Office and that Detective Henderson got this job due to their friendship with Rick Beseler.  Hmmmm? Would that be why you can steal a horse and get a verbal reprimand?

I bet you cannot walk out of the Sheriff's Office with a stapler without being charged with theft.  Obviously she knew her actions were wrong or she would have put her name on the sale and not covered it up with a friend's name.

Is this the only cover up in the Sheriff's Office?

Per the Fl State Statutes official misconduct is define as a third degree felony and link for the readers to review what is considered by law to be official misconduct. I guess we have some that are above the law in the county.

The States Attorney doesn't like Clay Co or is afraid of screwing up again. after Fitzgarald...or maybe just doesn't know the law.....

We have been identified as having a persuasive "Culture of Corruption" in Clay County. This just fits right in with our concerns. Even documented in the report. How much more evidence do you need?

812.014 4 c(c)  It is grand theft of the third degree and a felony of the third degree, punishable as provided in s.775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084, if the property stolen is:1.  Valued at $300 or more, but less than $5,000.2.  Valued at $5,000 or more, but less than $10,000.3.  Valued at $10,000 or more, but less than $20,000.4.  A will, codicil, or other testamentary instrument.5.  A firearm.6.  A motor vehicle, except as provided in paragraph (a).7.  Any commercially farmed animal, including any animal of the equine, bovine, or swine class, or other grazing animal, and including aquaculture species raised at a certified aquaculture facility. If the property stolen is aquaculture species raised at a certified aquaculture facility, then a $10,000 fine shall be imposed. To answer the question, no, this is not the only cover up. Remember the taking the baby for a drug deal TWICE.  Originally denied by the Sheriff on several occasions to the media who love him so much. Finally, had to admit it happened but no one's at fault as there was no POLICY against it. How about the statutes pertaining to child endangerment or abuse? Idiot.

I think what Adiossheriff is saying by using the statute is that the horse being the item in question makes it an automatic felony.I sure would like to see if there were two investigations.Sounds like the Sheriff goes out of his way to persecute employees he doesn't like (Corr. Sgt.) but will go to great lengths to protect his LOYAL people. After all, his pledge is Loyalty is more important than competence. And the baby thing was well documented in earlier blogs.

I agree, , my source tells me that there is a second Corr. Sgt. who has been on paid admin leave for near or over 8 weeks, as this Sgt. is being persecuted by the Sheriff's Loyal staff (Capt.) who the Sgt. did not agree with. Sounds like loyalty is run loose at the Sheriff's office with it's head cut off.
