Whats really really scary is the President now has the authority to exact emergency powers, which gives the President the ability to take ANY action without the approval of Congress. If a dirty bomb were to go off in a major US city, the President could exact emergency power. This would give him the power to do anything he pleased, anything from confiscating firearms, seizing property or business, declaring war, etc. All at the presidents will. Basically a dictatorship. Now thats scary! Steven P Munsey A+, MCP, IASO Orange Park | Green Cove Springs munsey13@comcast.net People are talking about ...Here are the recent blog postings with the most comments. |

Alabayea,
I agree wholeheartedly. But that does not exclude the possibility of trying or doing an end around run. Just one example. When was the last time the Congress, the only body authorised by the Constitution, declared war? Now count how many conflicts since WW II we have been in complete with body counts, wounded, MIA/KIA, divided country & a tanked economy without the benefit of that document.
I was not saying he would do it. Mike was saying that is what HE would try to do. Get enough like minded people on your side & you can do pretty much anything, & do it legally. That's the scary part. JATFUR.
