One tragedy away from anarchy

One tragedy away from anarchy

That is my belief, one day is coming, and this country will self destruct. I really don’t mean to be a pessimist, or a nay sayer, but think about it. We as a people are money hungry and greedy. My case in point is the 1972 fuel crisis. Fuel was rationed, essential operations came first, police, fire and medical. Then the people were given the opportunity for gas based on the even odd numbers on their license plate. Yes tempers flared at stations, and I did see several fights. I can’t recall anyone getting killed over it.

If that wasn’t a wake up call for this country nothing will ever be. Oh sure; for awhile everyone was on the save fuel band wagon, but that didn’t last long before everything was back to the way it was. The country started to prosper the economy was good, and everyone forgot about how the fuel shortage affected this country, and our economy. Since those days have we learned anything? I say not.

We still depend heavily on hostile countries for our crude oil fix, just as Iran became towards us. We have had thirty six years to come up with an alternative viable energy source, and what have we done with this time? For the most part it was a waist. Oh! Yea I forgot we came up with flex fuel capable vehicles. We need to think out side of the box, and get away from carbon emitting energy   The EPA dictates where and how we can look for new fossil fuel sources; they say to protect our precious animals. If I had the chance to ask the EPA just one question it would be, when our grocery shelves are empty because of another fuel shortage; how are you going to protect all the animals that people are slaughtering to feed their families?

This country runs on George and I’m not talking about the president. Suppose; just suppose that OPEC cuts their oil production to drive up the price. The world market is demanding more crude especially since China and India has entered the market for crude. Where do you think the oil is going to go? I’ll tell you; it will go to the highest bidder. If china offers more than us they will get it.

How long do you suppose truckers in this country can carry the burden of five, six, or even seven dollars a gallon for fuel, not very long? Just speaking about food, and no other commodities how long will it take for the grocery store shelves to become empty, not long at all? Those that have money will horde what they can get, and those with out the money will be SOL. It happened in 72, people stored as much gas as they could get.

I remember the toilet paper shortage. It wasn’t really a shortage just a rumor that got started. The only place you could find it; was used.

If you take the necessities of life from people, you will witness murder and mayhem on the streets. You think I’m wrong; here in Jax you get murdered in your own bed for just being there. Now just imagine what the big cities would be like with hungry people wondering the streets looking for food. It will become total anarchy, that the National Guard and our military won’t be able to control it; it took six days for our government just to get water to one stadium.

Its not just fuel that makes us vulnerable we as a nation have so many weak points that could be used to destroy our environment, and our economy. What would happen if this countries power grid was shut down and we were plunged into darkness? That’s a scary thought! Just one major terrorist attack could destroy this country as we know it.   The big cities would be the first to fall, then the suburbs. You would see people killing one another to take what they could get from you. It would revert back too the survival of the fittest. There are four things one needs to survive, protection, shelter, fire and food. There is something to be said about Hank Williams song, Country Folks Will Survive. I and many others in this country have the necessary knowledge too live off the land. This is one of the main reasons that I will never surrender the weapons that I own to anyone with out a fight. The reason is that I can accomplish two of the four necessities to survive. One, I can protect me and my family from the takers, and two I can hunt for the food that will feed us until I can harvest our crops.

What are we doing about it; not enough. Our government is paralyzed from the emulsion of trying to mix the dollar with common since. What we need is a leader that is not afraid to step out of the norm and try something new, and challenging. We waste billons on stupid Sh#T and don’t think twice about it. We have some of the most brilliant minds in the world, and we don’t have a plan B. Shame on us. This country should be giving unlimited funding too our universities to come up with a solution to fossil fuel. Really, what about NASA aren’t they used to solving problem? Wait a minute; what am I thinking we can’t do that; we have to protect the stock holders in big oil. (Sarcasm)

There is so much potential in this world that will support a new energy source, besides fossil fuel. Anything that moves and some that don’t can be turned into energy. You have the motion of the ocean, rivers and streams, wind power and solar just to name a few. Here is a novel Idea; how about huge magnifying glasses to capture the suns energy too turn water into steam. Could that work? I don’t know I am not one of the college educated ones who is supposed to think this stuff up. (Sarcasm) Why don’t we put some of these ideas to work? I truly don’t get it, maybe it’s because we can’t see the forest because of the trees.

What would a viable new energy source be worth to this world? You could not measure the value or it. Oil companies rake in billions in profit from oil. This is not just a government problem. If big oil could just grasp the profit they could make by coming up with an alternative to crude, not just big oil, but anyone. Your wealth and power would set a new president on the world market. It would also create many other problems for the oil producing countries of the world that depend on oil as there major export that fuels their economy, but that is another story in its self. My concern is America, and she is ripping at the seams. Even if none of this comes to be, just think of what she will become when the heathens that are raised today take her rains to guide her into the future. Thankfully before that time comes I will be on my way back too dust.
