Clay County Animal Control

This is my first time on this Blog, but I had to speak up.  It is clear from the article in the Clay Sun that they are being very prejudice.  After much research and speaking to people involved and the general public I know this story is not correct.  First of all alot of the high turn over in employees is not all due to having to deal with the animals but poor management, not giving proper direction and not having consistent policies. The general public is treated poorly when trying to adopt from CCAC, they are insulted and generally treated badly, making them not wanting to return.  CCAC needs to have eduction in dealing with the public.  The kennels are filthy and the animals are not seen by a vet.  They haven't had a vet at CCAC in years.  The employees need to do their jobs and not pay so much attention in keeping the public out of a public facility.  If you say or do something that does not quite sit right with them all of a sudden you are bombared with false allegagtions and accused of things you did not do and they ( the employees)will swear to it.  After all it has been protecting them for years, if you give the general public a hard enough time they tend to just go away, they do not even care what they say or who they say it about, lies don't matter to them.  They just want to protect their quite well paid jobs until retirement, and what about those fringe benefits.  Sometimes you can be in a job just too long you tend to think the facility is yours and treat it as such. But CCAC this facility belongs to the people of Clay County who are becoming more and more aware of how badly it is being managed.  The animals deserve a chance at life, do your job, Network to organizagtions who can save animals lives on a daily basis, there are so many out there, and don't insult me by saying not so, shame on you CCAC for not having someone in charge of just a good adoption program, networking to rescue groups, special needs groups and service needs groups and special breeds rescue, I mean of course someone who will do the job not just a title, anyone can have a title.  They should not have to beg you and contract you to rescue animals you should be actively seeking them out, they are always ready to help but you need to work at it a little, the animals are well worth it, contact them let them know what you have available. Earn your salaries or quit.

There are many people out there coming forward with real complaints against CCAC and also with complaints about false charges and allegations made against them just to get them out of CCAC or because they said the wrong thing to the wrong person,  CCAC needs to be restructed, it needs to welcome the public with open arms, it needs to have a volunteer staff to help with the animals, which has been proven to work across the nation, get with it, you know it works, but oh my what if someone from the outside gets into their little world how will they protect their jobs.  The Clay Sun needs to do a fair report as I said, talk to and report the stories from the public I mentioned and you know who they are just ask CCAC, don't just talk to one person at CCAC and take that story to the press as the truth and so many of us know it is just not so.  DO THE RIGHT THING. STOP TRYING TO DOWN PLAY THE 52 FARM ANIMALS THEY WERE COUNTY PROPERTY AND AS SUCH SHOULD HAVE BEEN TAKEN CARE OF, THIS IS STILL AN OPEN CASE, THE COUNTY HAS AN ACTIVE CONTRACT WITH AN INDIVIDUAL WHO WOULD DO JUST THAT.  AND THE ANIMALS WERE NOT HALF DEAD, TALK TO THE RIGHT PEOPLE GET BOTH SIDES OF A STORY BEFORE REPORTING. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN A PAPER THAT CONTINUES TO TELL ONE SIDE OF A STORY, WHY ARE YOU DOING THAT THIS IS 2008, CLAY COUNTY FL, AMERICA, I EXPECT FAIRNESS, NOW REPORT IT.  AND BY THE WAY MAKE THE REPORT FROM THE PUBLIC AND OTHER PEOPLE INVOLVED AS LARGE AS THIS ONE AND PICTURES WOULD BE NICE TOO.

...posting on this blog, why is your grasp of the English language as tenuous as that of Spot and k9trainer? I can't believe there are three Borat wannabes on one blog site. You will get a lot more attention if you are honest.

Lily - you crack me up.  I so admire your "on target" comments.  I think I have to change my login name as "Sunflower" doesn't reflect the real me.  I do love the flora and fauna, but can be more on the abrasive side than my beautiful (and native) gardens reflect.

The bloggers, Spot, K9 and now "newcomer" do seem to have much in common as far as their beliefs and their writing skills - or lack of skills. (I know, I ended that sentence with a preposition, but it's Saturday evening!!)

... I don't see as you have to change anything. It's a lovely image.

As for the English impaired blogger, I really don't care so much that he is incoherent or passionate. What I dislike are liars. Making up several blog names then responding to your own blogs only puts people who might otherwise be sympathetic to think you have another agenda. This blogger who appears to be giving Sybil a run for her money has a lot of serious mental problems. Fortunately for the majority he is focused, impotently, on a tiny county agency. Rather than annoy his audience he should get an interpreter and through him/her get an uncorrupt official  (assuming there is one) to open this whole scandal up. Failing this, let's hope he doesn't scale a tower with an M-16.

Thinking back on other blogs, this guy also sounds like the blogger trying to get people to come into the new Starbuck's in Green Cove. I may take a drive down there to see if there is anyone working there has English as a second language.
