Help! Having Withdrawal Symptoms and taking it out on my bathroom!

If you are in the decorating business, January is a difficult month!  Very few people have the energy or money right after the holidays to think about decorating.   So, where does that leave those of us who have a decorating addiction and no outlet for our creative energies?  It sends us into major withdrawal symptoms and the sure fire remedy is to begin a project at our  OWN home.

After spending 2 weeks cleaning and organizing my office and getting paperwork ready for taxes, I was in need of a "fix"!  It all started with a framed mirror that I found on sale at Kirkland's.  I thaought it would be great to hang over the bathroom vanity to replace the huge piece of standard builder mirror that was installed when the house was built.  Once I removed the old mirror, I realized that I was going to have to paint because the new mirror is smaller than the old mirror.  So, I thought "If I'm going to paint, I might as well choose a new color and paint the entire room.  Then, as I was getting ready to paint I decided that I should replace the towel bars because one was  white ceramic that was installed during construction and the other (installed by a previous owner) was silver resulting in a mistmatched set.  Once the ceramic towel rack was removed leaving 2 square holes in the wall, we needed to patch the drywall.  Well, since we were patching drywall, I thought "Now is a good time to eliminate the ugly medicine cabinet that no one ever uses. resulting in anther hole that needed to be patched. As my husband was patching all of the drywall, he started looking at the ugly soffit that houses the only light in the room and has decided that if would be really easy to remove the soffit and install a new lighing fixture above the new mirror that I bought.

So, as of today. the bathroom has no medicine cabinet or towel bars, there are drywall patches everywhere and two different "test" patches of paint color because I can't decide which one I like better.   All because of a $59 mirror I found at Kirkland's.

I sure hope business picks up soon....

Happy Decorating!

I just re did my bathroom after going to home depot to get what was supposed to be a simple vanity for a rental we have. After going through their catalogs design ideas seeing the tiles with decorative moldings etc i went home took some measurements and started coming up with designs. Back to home depot to buy some ply wood sheet rock tiles etc. I had found an awesome bathroom sink and vanity online which i ordered. And now i have a new bathroom from what was supposed to be a quick trip to home depot. My wife isn't to unhappy because it was finished in a few days only because the tiles had to set then grout etc. It wasn't much she loves it but isn't allowing me to go to home depot again on my own.

You are right about January being a tough time for redecorating. I personally purchased a new bathroom vanity and I am extremely delighted. It has an antique feel to it and italso has a beautiful marble top. It completely changed the overall appeal of my bathroom.

Thanks for the laugh about your wife not letting you go to Home Depot alone anymore.  Gave me a good chuckle  Laughing

Virtually impossible to think of decorating any part of the house post Christmas holiday. The household expenditure is already in overdrive mode and doing a bathroom renovation is a serious joke.

hey… thanks a lot for the nice post. I’ve decorated my bathroom wonderfully by following the instruction. Although I’m not a professional but I have done a 6 months interior designing course and I really enjoy it. Wheels for Sale

Interior design is a fun and imaginative job but think after remodeling and redecorating of all the new cleaning you have to do omg lucky i use San Antonio carpet cleaning firms or i would die because i redecorate my house quite often and it makes such a mess

Interior decoration deals with the home renovations that can be easily and quickly changed, and at lower budgets such as changing kitchen cabinets, divan beds, selecting wall paper, selecting furniture and usually does not deal with structural building codes.

I am very much agreed with the blogger of this site. January is really a hard month for those people who are involved in home decorating business. I have a business of Pool Supplies. After reading your blog I will definitely have to be careful as next month is going to be january.

The release of Zend PHP 3 was largely driven by Zeev Suraski and Andi Gutmans, who rewrote Zend PHP from the ground up and removed the parsing problems. Zend PHP 3 also made it much easier for others to extend the language. Zend PHP 3 has live up to the design goals of improving the performance of complex applications and modularity of Zend PHP'S code base. Apart from this, it provides end users with a solid zend php review infrastructure for lots of different databases, protocols and APIs. Its successor, Zend PHP 4, contained numerous major changes, including Zend Engine. Zend PHP 4 has introduced multi-threading, which essentially allows particularly lengthy, but non-critical functions to be run independently from the main script process, further streamlining execution. This means that large applications will be become easier to maintain and extend upon zend studio php. The second Zend PHP release, known as Zend PHP/F1 2.0 was the first to achieve wide spread popularity, and despite the parsing inconsistencies, it managed to attract a few converts.
