Sheriff's Candidate Forum a Success!

Last night the Clay County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 104 sponsored a Sheriff's Candidate Forum open to the public.  Three of the four candidates for Sheriff were in attendance. 

The candidates attending were Leroy Ennis, Gary Newman and Mike Taylor.  Sheriff Rick Beseler declined to attend stating a scheduling conflict.  The Fraternal Order of Police should make their decision on the candidate they will endorse sometime later this month.

There were about 200 spectators at the event, which was held at the Thrasher-Horne Center.  The crowd was made up of several concerned citizens, current Sheriff's Office members, local police Chiefs, local politicians and candidates seeking office. 

The Forum was conducted professionally as the candidates were asked questions prepared by the members of the FOP.  This was a great opportunity for the FOP members to review the qualifications and listen to the positions of each candidate seeking to be elected as the next Sheriff of Clay County.
