FLORIDA HOMETOWN DEMOCRACY PETITION

According to news media reports, Save our Constitution, Inc., (PC) will not reveal how many signature revocations they have obtained.  Guess what, the information is available online from the FL Div. of Elections and current!

Go to http://election.dos.state.fl.us/initiative/list.asp.  Once there, scroll down to Ballot #05-18 and click on Title, then on signatures/view by District, then signature by County.  As you can see, there are NO Revocations in Clay County and only a total of 584 state wide as of 12-29-07.

Imagine that!  Looks like voters did not think much of Mr. Thrasher's letter!

We only have 29 more days to get these forms signed and to HomeTown Democracy.  If you have not already done so, print the petition at www.FloridaHometownDemocracy.com, sign and submit it ASAP.  In fact print several for friends and encourage them to do same with their friends.  We cannot let opportunity slip thru our hands.  Putting the voters in charge of deciding whether our Comprehensive Plans will be changed is of utmost importance!

It is so important to encourage others to support this petition drive and have Florida Hometown Democracy placed on the state ballot.

Personalities and tactics aside, Hometown Democracy would be among the two most important tools Clay County residents could have to control local growth - the other being a County Commission not stacked by the Growth Industry.

I disagree. It's overkill. Growth concurrency is in place and every county HAS to adopt a plan by May 2008 (which Mike Mann knows because he's on the Advisory Council). Clay County is on track to adopt its plan.

To inact this amendment is suicide for voters. Everything - and I mean everything - will cost more as a result of this amendment.

If - and it's still an "if" - if, this makes it onto the ballot, deny it. Say "No."
