Tricks of the trade...
OK, I admit as a parent...there are tricks to the trade. Do you leave cookies and milk for Santa Clause? Yeah. It's a no brainer. But there are other tricks that "sell" Christmas. My favorite is buying some red material at a fabric store and then tearing off a piece of it and placing it on the fireplace grate. On Christmas morning when we discover it I say, "Holy cow, Santa must have a hole in his Santa suit. He tore it on the way out of the chimney." That's so cool...we have the material. What did you guys do to "wow" your kids this Christmas?

As you know mine is too old to "wow" anymore with Santa....but we made it all the way to 7th Grade before dropping the "No Santa" story. Of course with Keystone not having a middle school it was easy to play along for years. He questioned it a couple of times but we made sure we did the cookies & milk, a letter, maybe a phone call and left the "reindeer snack" outside with rye grass seed in it so it would be nice & green in that spot the next morning.
