Can anybody give a clear understanding of why our U.S. Congress is so enthralled, engaged, and spending tons of money over steroids in baseball?  Am I missing something or when did our elected representatives become the oversight committee for a private organization, and sports at that?  Do they control the starting line-up?

Sorry for the sarcasm. Just curious about what I'm missing here... with all the other issues affecting our country why this can be a top priority in our nation's capital?
