Calling all nature lovers! - Wings Over Clay County is sponsoring a Winter Nature and Bird Festival at First Baptist Church of Middleburg (across the street from Publix) on Saturday, February 9 from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. In addition to nature-related crafts, games and a puppet show for the kids, the event will feature representatives from The Audubon Society, the Keystone Farmers Market Organic Club, Jennings Forest, Penney Farms Birdwatchers, Untamed Adventures (an outdoor group for women), H.A.W.K.E.*, The Wildlife  Rescue Coalition, Creation Education Resources, Wild Birds Unlimited, The Garden Club of Middleburg, Inc., Tractor Supply Co., Clay County Agriculture and Horitcultural branch, the Middleburg Historic Museum, Trout Creek State Park and others providing information and educational materials for all ages. If you are a formal educator, a homeschooling parent or one who enjoys learning about birds and nature, you will not want to miss this fun and educational event! Come and visit Sam the Screech Owl and find out what he eats for dinner.  We will also have a live raccoon, squirrel and opposum....if you have never seen these animals up close and personal, now is your chance!

On this day, we will collect donations for HAWKE.  HAWKE rehabilitates injured and orphaned wild birds, mammals, and reptiles including endangered species. They are a not for profit organization licensed by the state of Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the Federal US Fish and Wildlife Service.  HAWKE  has certain ongoing needs...Meal Worms, * Crickets,* Ensure, * Powdered Goat Milk,* Medical Supplies: tape, rolled gauze, * Animal Airline Kennels.
