Rich K, You list yourself as an Agnostic (from the Greek a, meaning "without", and gnosticism or gnosis, meaning "knowledge") I have been reading your blogs for a while now and I think you are selling yourself short. Thank you for your kind words on the blog, I wish I could have claimed authorship on the blog, but I can't! It just seemed to hit a bullseye with the world we live in today so I had to send it out! ...for reminding us what this season is all about. And wouldn't it be a much better world if we followed these suggestions all the time no matter what our beliefs? Thanks again. Submitted by SoloVoce on Mon, 12/03/2007 - 2:56pm.
Danny, Thanks for the reply. You are correct. As I have stated before, an agnostic is unknowing, at least @ the existence or non existence of any diety. I'm not selling myself short. I'm just telling it the way it is. In that, I confess to intellectual honesty. But that does not for one minute mean that I refuse to accept any teaching or philosophy that promotes peaceful coexistence with my fellow blogers & beyond just because a particular religion does the same. Tell you the truth, while there are many good things in the bible, I would rather do away with the dogmatic approach to adheraing to it & boil it down to one simple sentance. Treat others the way you want to be treated. Yeah, I like that one. Plain, simple, direct plus it has the ring of truth to it. Bullseye is the word of the day. You did hit it rather impressively. JATFUR. RichK PS. I noticed that I had been remiss in my first reply. To all my fellow bloggers, I wish you all a Merry Christmas & a safe holiday season. No, that salutation doesn't bother me at all. Never has. Ho, Ho, Ho! And a special one to Alvin. Chipmunks rule. JATFUR. RichK Submitted by SoloVoce on Mon, 12/03/2007 - 2:58pm.
Sunflower, You may now join the ranks with Danny in hitting another mark. The beauty of your suggestion is, like so many other things, in the simplicity. JATFUR. RichK

Danny,
That is not only the best blog I've seen on the subject, but probably the best spirit that has been shown. Thanks from an agnostic for showing us the best of what Christianity, & all religions should offer. In my opinion, some of the negative things you mentioned have come about because of the differences in religion, mainly Christianity, that have come about in the past 2,000 years. Even I agree with many of the teachings in their original intent. If more people took that viewpoint, perhaps we wouldn't have so many problems, especially about this time of year. thanks for the letter.
