The Self-Defeating Merry Go Round

In pondering all the issues facing us such as over or irresponsible development and its effect on natural resources and quality of life along with the general feeling that the people have lost control due to the greed of some special interests, corruption and voter apathy has led me to a few thoughts I would like to share.

I was raised to be seen and not heard, raised to believe Adults are always right and should never be questioned and that the Goverment was going to do what it was going to do.  I was raised to be accountable for myself but to hold no one else accountable (Adults are always right and should never be questioned.)  Is it any wonder there is a large part of the population who are apathetic to what is going on around them.

Scare tactics are used to control the apathetic mindset.  The theory of the Intellectual Elite is used to control the apathetic mindset.  Saying things like "It's a done deal", "It's too late to change this or that" all contribute to the continuation of that apathetic mindset.  People don't care because they're constantly told by others what they think or feel doesn't matter for one reason or another.

It is a self defeating merry go round.

We've had several go arounds about kids today, what's wrong with them and what's wrong with their parents.  When you're raised to believe what you do can make no difference because it's wrong to question anything you open the door for apathy and a refusal to not only be accountable but also what you're willing to do to hold those responsible accountable.

I'm hoping that the unrest that is apparent in this blogging community is spreading through the state, maybe we should all visit other sites where blogs or comments are allowed and start spreading the word about our feelings towards the catastrophic enviromental intentions for our rivers that are in the works as well as the HTD Petition.

Let us get off the self defeating merry go round.
