THE FIRST AMENDMENT
What really worries me is not the teaser but the fact that the 1st amendment of the USA Constitution was violated . I have been teased myself in order to use one, and although is incredibly uncomfortable, is also bearable. Let's not forget that our country is based on these amendments and that not having freedom of speech place us at the same level than those countries governed by dictators. America should be preserved free for us and future generations of Americans. Overlooking this incident will be catastrophic. We are living in times where our economy is straggling and our government is divided, the perfect ground for the enemy to attack us again. America does not deserve incidents like this! But at the same time we should not escalate this situation more and more. We are on this together and this kind of incident only serve to distract our attention from other more urgent topics. I believe we all need a refreshing lesson from our history books, the ones that treasure the sacrifice and love our ancestors gave to free our country. We need to focus in the real problem: we are forgetting who we are and what is our country made of and that includes freedom of speech. Endenfin, I agree with you. This topic is currently under discussion on these blogs. Personally, I'm waiting for a detailed report & the chance to see the incident in its entirety. I keep missing it on the follow ups & it's frustrating because as good as our fellow bloggers are, there seems to be either contradictory & / or incomplete versions. As far as First Amendment issues are concerned, the current administration has been shown to have commited numerous & continuous violations in its history. Once again, it has been discussed on these blogs many times & the documentation for those violations is at the fingertips of anyone who cares to do the research. We, as a society, have allowed these violations to go on by not demanding an end to the practise. I consider this the epitome of apathy since it has involved every one of us. I am placing more & more blame on the Democrats, a change of my earlier opinion, for not initiating impeachment proceedings against both Bush & Cheney. It's not as though they don't have enough in the way of charges or evidence. I have to wonder if the point of no return has been reached & the damage can't be undone. JATFUR. I was reading this story and I do not beleive his 1st Amendment right was violated. He was allowed to ask his questions, but was cut off when he used a sexually explicate comment. Once he was cut off, he was asked to leave by security. Once he refused, he had to be phyically removed. While being removed, he resisted and had to be taszed.....bro! No violation here, jusk a punk kid.......
